The Spring Thyme Diaries : April 🌿

This month was incredibly busy! But so many memories made. Easter, followed by a big work deal that I was super proud of, seeing my sister after months apart and getting to celebrate her and her fiancé, as well as being brides together🥹🦢 In late april, we had my dream whimsical/forest/moss engagement shoot ( by some miracle, that morning was sunny and warm) and also got to spend some quality time with each other. Made a froggy cake that just so happens to match my fairy mug perfectly 🧚 Perfected my wedding trial manicure, and finally finding my perfect wedding band 🌿🌸🧚🦢

Here’s to a great start to spring 🌿

Coffee Table Refresh 🌷

Spring is the perfect time to do some little updates to our spaces!

And the best place to start is the coffee table.

From fresh flowers and potted plants, to new spring scents to a good refresh of decor accessories… all to ensure a feeling of renewal and change🌿

I follow a simple 3-step method for coffee table vignettes:

1. Add height with flowers, plants, vases or even a sculpture

2. Place hardcover books for visual impact and layering (and they are great conversation starters, too)

3. Finish with objects such as plates, lidded boxes, trinket dishes, candles or collectibles… anything unique or that is special to you or tells your story ✨

Bonus: add a large tray and style it with any of these pieces!

I usually shop my own home and swap things around. Easy, simple and so very refreshing 🌿

My coffee table is the Gershwin Recycled Metal Round Table from @urbanbarn - love it!

And how gorgeous are these tulips?!! The colour is a perfect match to the painting above the sofa 🙌🏼 and they bring me so much joy!

Do tell…how do you refresh your house for Spring?

#shelfie ✨

Whether it’s a nook within a cabinet or a little shelf in a hallway or closet, I take styling shelves very passionately!

I display things I love, things that bring me beautiful memories, the precious gifts I love to look at and use as well as family heirlooms handed down to me.

And as you can see, we love our blue and white! Although, we are slowly introducing greens 🌿

I aim for an arrangement that looks intentional, visually pleasing, clean and organized. But never jumbled 😊 nor cluttered or else it drives me bananas!

I move things around every season and try to hilight different items each time.

Oh how I love a good shelfie😀

How about you?

Dining Al Fresco is one of my favourite things to do! And it doesn’t have to be a complicated affair.

This tablescape was a really simple one- a buffet table was set up nearby and people sat where they wished!

The basics:
• A colour scheme
• Flowers (mix of fresh and faux)
• Beautiful linens
• Candles
• Partylist 🎶

The Sources:
Tablecloth and napkins @homesensecanada
Faux flowers @homesmithhouse
Round placemats @dollaramafindsca
Tea light holders @ikeacanada
Vases and Tea lights @homesmithhouse
Napkin Rings ~ vintage/thrifted
Chairs @canadiantire
