POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Guess this is a recap of the summer of 2026. Far too much to put into 20 slides, but these are roughly in chronological order from most recent to earliest in the summer

1-3 yesterday at Seneca Rocks
4-10 Squamish aka Squamtember ‘26
11-12 New friends and future apartment mate in SF at Seneca
13-18 Colorado this summer (including the only photo I took at the Hurricanes Cup Final Game watch party)
Friends from near and far
19-20 Tulsa

A wild summer full of ups and downs, but zero property (sold my house in Colorado), one new job, and more memories than I can count cheers to the best days of my life 🥂🍻🧗

Next up 🛫🌁

85 F++ / 85% humidity, but I was missing it… so I had to go back... Yes, Haycock mountain again. You learn to love it by all means, even if you can hate some sides of it…
“Teen Age Wasteland” v5. Did a reco there a while ago with @_climing but the approach was a little hectic.
Add weeks of “good weather” and the jungle was worse… had to clean the moss off the top out, and did some gardening around to clip off all the ramping vines and wild young trees colonizing that piece of land again.
And as described in @gunksapps it’s really happening at the mantle. I had to fight a bit in this uncomfortable situation although it felt more like a 4 than a 5 to me, but 🤷🏻‍♂️!
I randomly cross path with @rocke_climbs and the extra comforter on the top rock and spot were an extra peace of mind!

Another one in the bag!
Again, I often walked by it, at a distance or close by, going to one of my favorite warm ups, the steep v2 “Belly Scraper”, but I never really cared too much to try it. I never found its shape very attractive because of the boulders it sits on and the constraints it implies. But @_climing told me it was one of his favorite lines, and he convinced me to stop and give it a go.
It was the end of our session and as always, why not getting extra moves, especially before the announced episode of showers coming up…
So yes, despite the not so exciting constraints to start off, I slowly got involved into finding a way to move around the big suspended pillar, as I didn’t want to commit to a big off balance dynamic move, right above that rock table that is waiting for your spine…. So I figured out some intermediates and cheaty toe hooks. And yes, I will say, I changed my mind and will join Ming’s POV to admit it does climb well. It’s an interesting little climb that takes you around two corners in a spiral. Fun

Here is pretty much the raw edit of the send! “French Press” it is, French Press it was. 💥✅
The day started a bit damp at some areas but luckily this didn’t need much time to dry and when arrived with @_climing and @ineluctablebase , we didn’t have to wait too long. We used my towel and a mini fan (…🫣) to dry up the last persistent hold.
I quickly figured out the feet first beta to move off the bottom section as I was too short too wrap my left hand above to the incut, swang back to install the left heelcup into that good pockety jug, relaxed and breathe a second… then engaged everything onto the left hip, kept pushing down, kept pulling with the heel to totally transfer my butt over to the left, used a tiny vertical crimp high up on the slab to just balance myself… and pressed down the most French way I could, kicking my right leg to unlock it from the catch I was trapped on below… and I was out!! Yay!
“French Press” v6… …or 5?…
Definitely deserves 2 ⭐️…or ⭐️⭐️⭐️

2026 Climbing Goals / Putting in the Work (13)
The 5.12a Dream and Journey

Tonight I had one of my best overall sessions where I not only felt strong, but I felt like I could push past the fears I have towards attempting a route graded 5.12a because parts of me feels like I am not ready, maybe its too much of a challenge, or that its about grade chasing, which have all been thoughts in the back of my mind, but I know none of these feelings are true and I know the reason for setting this as a goal for myself is because I am able and ready to start climbing this grade and I have been to comfortable with the 5.11s I have been climbing. I thought today was the day after seeking beta, advice, and support from some of my climbing friends who have done this route before, I felt ready to give it a real chance and this chance provided me with so much in terms of progress, certainty that I can climb this route and grade, and just being proud at the journey I have been on to get here and just for not giving up on my dreams or goals. I really do enjoy feeling strong and like myself while climbing again, its been a long time since I have felt like that before. Which long time climbing gym projects have you finally sent? What feelings did you have afterwards?

2026 (Belief): This year I want to continue to believe in myself and what I am able to do, not to think I better than anyone, but just knowing that the things I have planned, the goals I want to acheive, the dreams I want to make a reality, and the adventures I want to go on are not to big or impossible for me after all I have been through last year and how I have overcome those things and have allowed me to grow into the person I am now in 2026. I want to believe that anything I want to acheive, I can make happen with the right friends and family in my corner, the right training and preparation, and most of all the encouragement from my friends and family to help me get there and continue to believe in me too. What dreams do you have for this year? What have you already done this year that you are proud of?

Jelly Belly at Sandstone Quarry

Bit of an approach but solid rock, don't think there are any beta videos or ascents on Kaya but felt about v6/v7 with this beta
