WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND? 🤎

We wear so many hats. Mother. Wife. Leader. Entrepreneur. Professional. Dreamer.

But how often do we stop to consider the mental and emotional weight of wearing them all?

It’s one thing to wear the hats. It’s another to take care of what’s underneath them.

Meet Cortni John, a U.S. Air Force veteran, confidence coach, entrepreneur, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and founder of Becoming Counseling & Wellness.

Cortni understands that discovering your SPARK isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about making space for yourself beneath all the roles you play.

At AWAKEN YOUR SPARK DFW, she’ll help us explore identity, mental wellness, and the many hats we wear while navigating life’s different seasons.

Because you can wear many hats and still lose sight of the person underneath them.

I created 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 for the woman who wears many hats, carries a lot, and is ready to make space for herself, too.

A space to 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔.
A space to 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍.
A space to 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕 with who you are outside of everything you do.

I’m 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐢 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧, 𝐋𝐏𝐂-𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞, and I provide virtual therapy for women throughout Texas, with 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏.

Sometimes healing is dramatic, and sometimes it looks like:

A boundary you finally keep.
A conversation you stop avoiding.
A pattern you recognize sooner.
A moment when you respond differently than you once would have.

What does healing look like for you in this season?

Take away the titles for a moment.

Not the mom.
Not the wife or partner.
Not the professional.
Not the caretaker.
Not the dependable one.

𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖?

It can be surprisingly difficult to answer when so much of your identity has become connected to what you produce, provide, accomplish, or do for other people.

A woman, 𝒚𝒐𝒖, still lives underneath all those roles.

Her wants matter.
Her feelings matter.
Her story matters.

And maybe part of 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 is getting reacquainted with her. 🤎

I can’t wait to meet 𝒉𝒆𝒓.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel like sitting across from someone who has you figured out.

I believe some of the most meaningful work happens when you have space to 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒖𝒑 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆.✨

Some days we may unpack something heavy.
Some days we may challenge a pattern.
Some days we may laugh.
And some days the win is simply having one place where you don’t have to hold everything together.

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆. 𝑾𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.🤎

Calendar opens soon!

I’m learning that 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 doesn’t always look like adding more.

Sometimes it looks like 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎.

Sometimes it looks like 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓.

Sometimes it looks like 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇, while still giving yourself permission to grow beyond her.

And sometimes…it looks like finally 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 that’s been quietly taking shape for a long time.

More soon. 🤎
