One last time for JerryShaun.com You have been my close friend and favorite behind the lens for over 20 years. Your talent and personality was unmatched. You were the most welcoming and loving of us all. You were my biggest connection to Long Beach. There would be times where I used to joke saying “don’t tell Jerry I came to LBC without seeing him” but you’d always find out, call me and give me shit. Now for the rest of my life, I’ll wish I had the chance to see you, feel your loving embrace, hear your voice, your laugh and see your smile. The last time I saw you, we were putting another friend to rest and I was getting back on stage after a long lapse to help our friends pay their respects and grieve. You were ON TIME (for once) to photograph the occasion. I hadn’t seen a camera in your hands in many years. It was an amazing surprise to have you there not knowing if I’d ever set foot on a stage again. You were full of energy and were all over the place getting what I can only imagine were some of the best shots of your closest and oldest friends who were sharing a stage for the first and only time. I never did see those photos, which is very on brand for you. 😂 Something else happened that night that has been playing in my head on repeat the last few days. Between songs, you handed me a shot of whiskey, winked at me and said “I love seeing you on stage again.” I replied with “I love seeing you behind the lens again.” We both smiled to each other as if we were transformed back to 2008 when things were much simpler for us both. This moment was captured in video. I debated adding it to this post but after watching it, I decided to keep it for myself. I think you knew I’d push my way back to the stage again. You of all people understood that it was the only place I ever felt some kind of self worth and happiness. And I have. I have found that stage, that happiness again, releasing everything I can’t understand enough to say. Every time I see a flash while I’m up there, I think of you and I never got to tell you that, but I hope you know now. I love you Jerry and I’ll carry you onto every stage with me until I’m done.

First OHANA in the books, had a blast with one of the most solid crews. 1 week of blood, sweat and tears. Felt like I’ve been with this crew for years , what an amazing experience. Thanks to the fam bringing me in with open arms. One of the most memorable experiences. Was 5 feet away from one of my childhood idols , surreal experiences. Show call days were intense , but I wouldn’t change it for the word. Camped with some homies and made some amazing memories. This is why we do this, we live for this. Caught some behind the stage footage. Thank you to everyone who was apart of it. I do not know how to repay you guys. The love is there . #ohanameansfamily #ohana25
