We are deeply honored to be featured by our admired Rania Ghosn @_rghosn in her article ‘Geodesign, or, It Matters What Earths Make Worlds’.

She includes “Teatro Della Terra Alienata”, Australian pavilion at the XXII @triennalemilano (awarded with the Golden Bee to the best international contribution) as a project of radical political imagination, together with the works of @waithinktank and @formafantasma .

The piece has been published in the issue Log60 @log_grams edited by Brittany Utting and Albert Pope @pope_70198 under the title ‘The Sixth Sphere’.

Log60 explores the technosphere as “a planetary enmeshment of bodies, environments, and technologies” by examining the Earth’s natural spheres through the lenses of architecture, science, and philosophy.

Rania’s article delves into the idea of ‘Geodesign’ and presents “a constellation of earth- thinking and earth-making design practices – critical, decolonial, feminist, and speculative (many of whom would not identify as geodesigners) – whose works do not aim to simulate or SketchUp the future from today’s data models, but to world through the cracks of the present crisis the possibilities for another world.”

Thank you, @_rghosn @_designearth for your generosity and sharpness.

“Teatro Della Terra Alienata: Re-imagining the fate of the Great Barrier Reef” is a project done by @grandeza.studio (@amaia.sanchezvelasco @jorge.valiente.oriol @gonz_valienteoriol) in collaboration with Miguel Rodriguez Casellas and brings together contributions from artists @shoufay @janetlaurence @liam_benson @cigsunmoon @a.m._patricia @madisonbycroft as well as students and academics from @utsarchitecture with @charles_curtin @zharrisson @fra__cappa. The pavilion was acquired by @ngvmelbourne for its permanent collection of contemporary design and architecture.

To know more about the project you can check the homonymous book that we published with @bartlebooth_ in 2022.
