POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to go on a missions trip to Los Angeles. I don’t think I can fully express how much this experience changed me—it stretched me, humbled me, and left a lasting mark on my heart. I went in believing God had something He wanted to do through me, but I didn’t realize how much He also wanted to do within me.

One of the biggest lessons I learned is that growth comes through discomfort. I was placed in situations that challenged me and required me to trust God in new ways. I speak some Spanish, but I’m far from fluent. Yet, my team encouraged me to step out and breach the language barrier, and because of that I was able to connect with so many people—people who were hurting, lost, and searching for hope. In those moments, as I stumbled through words and relied on God to fill in the gaps, I realized it was never about me. It was about being willing, showing up, and letting God work through my weakness.

We spent time handing out clothes to the homeless, providing groceries for families in need, and serving food in Skid Row. But what I will never forget is that we weren’t just giving out things—we were giving people our time, our presence, our love. We looked them in the eyes. We listened to their stories. We prayed with them, cried with them, and reminded them that they are not forgotten. That Jesus sees them. Knows them. Loves them. I will never forget the faces, the hands I held, the tears I saw fall.

God kept reminding me: He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the 99 for the one. Every person we met was that one. Each story was different, each struggle unique, but every soul was precious to Him. And in ways I can’t fully explain, I felt my heart break and expand at the same time.

I walked away from this trip changed—not just because of what I saw, but because of what God did in me. He showed me that ministry isn’t about having all the right words; it’s about being willing to love like He does. And that love changes everything.

The Lord is our Shepherd! Our team went through Psalm 23 each day, reminding ourselves of the names of God. During this trip, I saw God shepherd His sheep. I witnessed how, through us, we could show the lost that they are being pursued by Jesus. As we served those financially struggling and homeless, I saw how the Shepherd cares for His sheep. We were able to partner with God by serving His people, providing them with food, clothes, and prayers. In areas like Skid Row, Compton, and at the Dream Center itself. We saw individuals experience the care and love of Jesus through the tears in their eyes, eyes that saw hope; through those who felt heard and seen by us, but ultimately by the Lord; and through the laughter and dancing shared with God’s children.
As Jesus walked on Earth, He was unhurried and interruptible making those around Him feel seen and important. His time on Earth was spent stopping what He was doing to perform miracles, to reveal Himself to His children who felt unseen, lost, and hopeless. He wept with people, and I know He laughed with them too. This is what it looks like to love to be interruptible and genuinely interested in people, showing them the care you have because you know the one who cares for you. As I served in LA, I looked into the eyes of those I was helping, and I saw people who needed the reminder that they are seen and loved by Jesus. I slowed down from just serving to meet them where they are whether that meant talking with them, praying for them, or hugging them tightly. God taught me the simplicity of seeing people and letting His Spirit guide the rest.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to be at the Dream Center and love God’s people alongside people I love so much. God is so good, and what a joy it is to serve Him and share the hope found in Him alone! Thank you for everyone who donated to this trip that touched so many hearts in LA but also mine so deeply!

Last night was a very special night for me. My whole life I have always put God to the side but something last night changed. I was introduced to the @gfctheexchange and couldn’t be more thankful for them for rebirthing me as a son of Christ. It is now time to flip the chapter and live the way Jesus wanted me to.ā¤ļø

Trying to sum up this year in a post wouldn’t be possible. This year was challenging in so many ways, but even more so, it was filled with Jesus, an amazing community, and so many memories. I couldn’t be more thankful.
