It’s being over a week since hundreds of runners took to the roads of Lekki for the independence dusk till dawn run to celebrate Nigeria’s 66th Independence. I registered for the 21km open distance, but pushed till 50km! Earning me my first marathon and ultramarathon.

To everyone who participated in this, whether physically or virtually, you’re the real OGs, and the biggest of OG’s are the 66km finishers 🙌

To everyone who cheered me on during this run, I say a big thank you. Hearing everyone shout let’s go! vamos! active! was incredibly motivating.

Running for 10 hours is absolute bonkers, but we did! Who no go, no go know. I came, I saw, and I almost did not conquer 😂

A big thank you to the organizers @thetrailblazers.ng and every single person who helped make this a seamless experience for all the runners on site.

I only planned to suffer a little…

Somehow my legs heard "Go chase every PB you’ve got” 😂

Thankfully my legs felt better today than they have in the last five months, almost pain free, at least for the first few kilometers.
