Honeycomb’s journey is one of those that breaks your heart before putting it slowly back together again. 🍯❤️

Honeycomb came into @nycacc in August after suffering terrible injuries. She had multiple wounds and one of her back legs was so badly damaged that she wasn't using it. @_hillarymiller helped get her into the care of @muddypawsrescuenyc, and together with @simonsits made sure this incredibly sweet girl finally had people fighting for her.

Despite everything she had endured, Honeycomb remained extraordinarily gentle and affectionate. Her damaged leg ultimately had to be amputated - and rather wonderfully, becoming a tripod seemed to set her free. Within days she was charging around on three legs, moving faster and further than before. It became clear just how much pain that useless leg had been causing her.

Hillary helped Honeycomb through those first stages of recovery before she continued healing with Isabel and Jacob. Watching her transformation from an injured, exhausted dog into this happy, ridiculous, cuddle-demanding little character has been beautiful.

And somewhere along the way, Honeycomb developed a frankly enormous crush on Jacob - aka “Mr Isabel”. Judging by the way she looks at him, Isabel may now be the third wheel in her own marriage. 😂

I absolutely adore this girl. The fact that after everything humans had put her through, Honeycomb was still so willing to trust, snuggle and love is just extraordinary. Three legs, one enormous heart and apparently absolutely no respect for marital boundaries. 😂❤️

Honeycomb is now looking for the wonderful forever home she deserves through @muddypawsrescuenyc. 🍯🐾

Paddles attended her first wedding this weekend to celebrate Aunt Isabel & Mr. Isabel aka sweet Jacob ♥️
-
It was an absolute joy to experience the most unique group of outgoing, friendly, non judgmental humans come together to celebrate such an amazing couple.
-
Simon’s absence was undoubtedly felt, but I like to think he was there in spirit as his dog squad dressed up in bows and suits for the ceremony, swam in the lake & zoomied around the camp grounds with their crew of dog moms in tow.
-
Love you both and this weekend at camp will forever live in our hearts!

Sophia 💛

Tiny dog, enormous personality. Sophia’s gotcha story began in mid-June 2020, when this little senior Chihuahua came to @muddypawsrescuenyc from @aspca and went into foster care with @_hillarymiller and Matt. It did not take long for "foster" to become family. 🥹

At around 8 years old and just 8 lbs, Sophia arrived needing a lot of care. She was completely toothless after full-mouth dental extractions and was also recovering from skin infections, residual bone and lip infections, esophagitis and suspected kennel cough. She needed canned food and several medications - but underneath all of that was one gloriously sassy little lady.

Her personality sounds impossible not to fall for. She gave toothless growls when she objected to treatment, had a legendary skeptical side-eye, and apparently had very strong opinions about the cats getting the zoomies. 😂 She was also tiny enough to be carried around in a baby sling, charming people wherever she went.

What began as fostering became almost six years of being completely adored. I was so sad to learn that Sophia recently passed. I do not want to dwell on how - only on the fact that she was deeply loved, safe, cherished and very much herself right to the end. 💛

I absolutely love the little dogs who arrive with baggage, attitude and a whole rulebook of their own. Sophia was one of those special souls. Thank you @_hillarymiller, @southern.gothicc and @muddypawsrescuenyc for giving her the kind of life every rescue deserves.

Leave it to Michael Scott, pigeon poacher and co-owner of Pigeons on Broadway in Bushwick, the sickest pigeon exploiter of all time, to openly and blatantly brag about how little he cares about these birds as individuals. This gorgeous lone white king pigeon was recently rescued from a massive dog hoarding situation in Brooklyn. His bands read: "2019, MICHAEL SCOTT, " just trying to lose a few".

These people say they love their birds in one breath, and in the next, prove they have no concept of what "love" is. Of all the horrific injuries and cases I've seen, this band inscription is something that will be burned into my brain forever. I just hope when karma catches up to Michael, Joey, Lisa, Dwayne, and all pigeon exploiters, that it is as merciless as they are towards their victims.

It doesn't matter what kind of sick event or activity they are being exploited for, whether racing, dove releases, or breeding; ALL PIGEON EXPLOITATION is abuse, and it will never be ethical or acceptable to people who ACTUALLY care about these birds the way their abusers claim they do. I'm not done with Michael Scott. He WILL be dealt with. For now, I will continue to expose him for who he REALLY is; an animal abusing coward.
