Membracis Lunata: Great to see my old friend Membracis Lunata yesterday (a member of the treehopper family). It’s been 15 years since I have last seen this exotic creature. Luckily this individual was polite enough to allow a portrait before flying off into the unknown. 📷 Ithaka - series: @aliens_of_akahtilandia [][][] #mataatlantica #macro #insect #entomologia #ithakadarinpappas

Mini Ith (11 or 12 years old) Ridgecrest Middle School, PV, I think. For those of you who didn’t experience the true freedom of coastal Southern California in the 70s & 80s…I pity you, I really do. Photo: SNP Archives #freedom #1970s #southerncalifornia #sogetup #ithakadarinpappas

Conley Abrams III (RIP) Some months ago a great friend and one of my foremost musical collaborators Conley Abrams III, a son of Detroit, passed away. I had been at his last birthday party, he was all smiles and hadn’t even mentioned his own impending situation. Conley was much more than just a producer to me, he was a guru in disguise who positively gave useable practical advice. I remember him telling me, “don’t worry about how you Think your life is supposed to right now, accept where your life actually is at this moment and move forward”. I can only aspire to be able to live by this mantra one day. How I began working with this hyper talented individual (Michael Jackson, Tupac, Queen Latifah) is a mystery in itself. Fate or coincidence? Our hip hop adventure album, Somewhere South of Somalia was well received by critics but with the scheduled release date of September 11th 2001, the project nearly completely evaporated from public view within hours. Conley was also the musical director of our concerts here in the US (Jack Johnson opened one our shows at the Belly Up in Solana). Supreme thanks Conley, for your friendship, wisdom, talent and hard work. You are admired and missed. #conleyabramsIII #Detroit #hiphopproducer #hiphop #losangeles <> Song: Ithaka “Stay Strong Little Brother” (Conley Abram’s Hometown Mix) [Pappas-Fossard-Butler]
