On Sunday, pastors Adrian & Jess taught together on the subject of marriage as we continued through our Relationships Reimagined series - unpacking Ephesians 5 as we looked at the MINDSET, the MISSION and the METAPHOR of marriage. 💍

You can catch the message in full on Spotify & YouTube - link in bio or search “Citizens Church Sydney”. 🎧

Join us this Sunday as we continue the conversation by exploring what the Bible has to say about singleness! 10am - @darlingquartertheatre - see you there ⛪️

Thinking back over the summer and these few sweet days in particular spent with these church planting women. Our annual @orchardgroup Women’s Retreat is like one big exhale — from the time given to reflect and relax in God’s presence, to the laughter that comes from being with people who understand the things you hope for and carry. Summertime Chicago is pretty spectacular too. Can’t wait until next year, and love that we’re rooting each other on and holding each other in prayer from across the globe in the meantime.

We cannot express just how grateful we are to be part of the @orchardgroup - we had the honour and privilege of having some of the team from the USA with us over the weekend. We absolutely love and believe in everything they are on about - church planting, reaching cities, advancing the kingdom.

What has unfolded at @citizens.sydney over these first 6 months would not have been possible without their support, guidance and care - and it’s only the beginning! We specifically thank @suncrestchurch @chapelbuffalo @redemptionsf for investing in our church plant and what God is doing here in Sydney 🙏

What a memorable day having the legendary @markkelsey & @berniekelsey yesterday with us at @citizens.sydney!

Nearly 15 years ago, when @_jesstam and I were engaged we visited @c3.syd for the first time and I heard Ps Mark preach - a life-changing message on the theology of the Holy Spirit from Genesis to Revelation. At the time I was early in my journey of synthesising the Word and the Spirit and that message completely revolutionised my thinking and faith trajectory.

Fast forward all these years and now having these guys preaching and ministering in our church was truly a “pinch me” moment for us.

We feel immensely privileged having these guys speaking in our lives and our church, and especially thrilled to see their launch of @formed.world - the Church will be stronger and healthier because of it! Great days ahead!

Yesterday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday and had the opportunity to baptise 5 more people who publicly professed their faith in Jesus. What a privilege to hold our second round of baptisms in a matter of weeks.

It has been remarkable experiencing first hand what seems to be a renewed hunger for, and openness to, the Gospel. God is truly on the move in our city and we are so grateful for the labourers who are being assembled to join us on this mission.

It was extra special having pastors @markkelsey & @berniekelsey with us speaking into our church and bringing incredible teaching and ministry. The altar was full, people being filled afresh with the Holy Spirit and receiving salvation for the first time.

A significant day in the life of our church, and it’s only the beginning! 🕊️🔥💨⛪️

We’ve had a blast these past 2 days celebrating Jacob’s birthday!

New bike, Timezone, froyo, a nail-biting soccer victory, rockclimbing with friends, and an out-of-this-world BB-8 cake by @_jesstam 🤯

Man it’s good to be 8! These are special and precious days.

We love you Jacob and all the joy and fun you bring into our world!

Such a powerful and deeply touching Mother’s Day preach from our very own Ps. @_jesstam 🤍🤍

Through sharing parts of her own personal journey, Ps. Jess brought such a powerful reminder that God is the perfect parent: loving, present and faithful through every season.

A message centred on healing, freedom and reconciliation, reminding us that where there has been hurt or lack, God steps into the gap and restores what was broken.

“The enemy cannot steal your salvation, but he can steal your effectiveness and your freedom.”
