POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🏃‍♀️ We're delighted to have runners registering to raise money for us by taking part in the May 2026 Edinburgh marathon.

💚 One of our runners Morven learned about Playlist for Life through her work in the voluntary sector, then used our resources to bring joy to her grandad who lives with dementia, and to family members too.

🎶 Just £2 covers the cost of sending a resource pack to help another individual or family affected by dementia to manage or improve symptoms through personal playlists.

🚀 If you'd like to support Playlist for Life, check out the Get Involved page on our website, and a range of races on Just Running where we're listed as a charity.

Often people just dive into signing up for races and unfortunately end up getting injured. So here are some of the key things to consider when signing up for a race!

1. Is the distance realistic/ safe for you?
What is your running age/ background and is the event you’re signing up for an appropriate distance for what your body can handle.

2. Do you have the time to train properly?
An ultramarathon requires you to build up to running 6+ hours per week (and that doesn’t include cross-training and strength). Do you have the time to commit to those hours without it adding large volumes of stress to your life?

3. Are you currently injured/ struggling with an illness?
If you’re just coming out of an injury or illness it’s not advisable to jump straight back into a training block. Give your body the time to recover fully and enjoy running before diving straight into a new challenge.

4. Should you get a coach or can you follow a generic running plan?
For longer distances I would always advise getting a running coach over a generic plan as the later unfortunately isn’t adaptable to life. When training for longer events it’s important to be able to change your plan as needed when things crop up.

5. Have you got a strength and conditioning plan?
Strength training will help you from a performance perspective and also to help reduce the risk of injury. So make sure to have a plan in place.

Any questions? Drop me a message below or send me a dm.

As always save this for later or send to someone who would find it useful!

TAPER TIME🤘🏼!
.
This training block has been far from ideal, real life shit has taken a massive whack and at times I’ve doubted if I’d have the physical & mental strength to get to the @berlinmarathon start line without breaking myself for real.
.
But through stubbornness, determination or just being damn crazy - we made it!! And these photos are filling my bucket with confidence. Nothing for granted - stay humble, dream big, don’t break a toe 🤓!

When the legs are too heavy,
When your brain says you can’t,
When hitting that final rep is a solid no,
When you need to quit & have a lil cry,
Just Keep F#%ing Running.
.
Because even though you aren’t at your best right now, you’re showing up & one day you’ll be stronger for running through the fire.
.
I’m telling myself this daily right now, so if helpful,
pop it in your pocket too 🤝 @_just_running #roadtoberlin #berlinmarathon #dreamon #thespeedproject #running #justrunning #ukrunchat
