There’s something extraordinary about seeing Tanzania through the eyes of someone who has just lived it.

The rush of a first wildlife encounter.
The thrill of the unexpected.
The vastness of the savannah stretching endlessly into the horizon.
The kind of breathtaking moments that make you stop, stare, and whisper “wow” without even realizing it.

This World Photography Day, we’re celebrating the incredible images captured by our guests—and the wild, beautiful, unforgettable adventures behind every frame.
Because a photograph can do more than preserve a moment. It can take you back to the feeling.

Your adventure. Your perspective. Your story.
Captured in Tanzania.

We had such a wonderful time opening our doors to the public last weekend ☀️ What better way to celebrate spring, community, and local makers of art, food, music, and crafts than @artistsopenhse and we can’t wait to do it all again this weekend!

Come on down to #HavelockWalk Saturday and Sunday just by the Forest Hill station between 11am and 6pm for more dancing, eating, singing, playing, chatting, and artistic appreciation.

HAVELOCK ROAD STUDIOS
@havelockwalk

Opening their studio doors for a second weekend of pure Joy !
Havelock Walk Studios in Forest Hill is a much-loved stop on the SE26 trail.
This charming cobblestone mews closes to traffic and is decorated with colourful bunting, taking on a lively, festival atmosphere when resident artists open their studio doors and invite you in to view, discuss, and, if you wish, buy their latest work.
There’s a children’s art trail, and this year there will also be an Artisan Market at Canvas & Cream Studios, with 14 fantastic makers taking part—promising even more to discover.

Meet Kaia 📸 Photographer & filmmaker @_kaia.rose_ is one of Havelock Walk’s newer arrivals - swipe and read below to find out some fun facts about her 👇

☕️ Morning mug and hot drink of choice: this lovely little ceramic cup by @hannah.jean.studio that I picked up at @betterthingslondon with a demitasse of black coffee. I enjoy the ritual of hand-grinding my beans each morning and the easy slowness of a pour over.

✏️ Go-to writing implement: black Muji 0.38 gel ink ball point pen - so easy to refill when the ink runs dry.

⚙️ Oft-used tool or medium: if you come to my open studio, you’ll see images taken on all of these cameras (the little Rollei 35 was my mom’s when she was in her twenties). I love the surprises that come with using expired film - a lot of these rolls were found in storage, leftover from my childhood.

🎨Colours currently being enjoyed: this trio of colours are inspired by California wildflowers that spring up together near where I grew up.

🗓️ Years on #HavelockWalk: two and a half years

Come say hi at Open Studios on May 9/10 and May 16/17 in Forest Hill SE23. The #HavelockWalk artists will be opening up their studios between 11am-6pm and there will be music, food, a kid’s art trail, and fun vibes.
