Today was the last day of Mrs Tori Andrews’ summer camp at First American Museum. Today, the students started seeds to take home, inspected the progress of their sun tea plant fertilizer solution, hand pollinated heirloom indigenous maize/corn, and also learned about composting from Kasey Meek from @okcbeautiful. Thank you Kasey for taking the time to come by and teach our students today!

OCASA in the wild! This past Saturday, we had the opportunity to be part of the City of Choctaw’s Flora Fest event! We shared resources on composting and our incredible Education Committee Chair, Kasey Meek @_kcmeek, led a worm bin exploration activity. We had such a fun time exploring compost topics with everyone! We’ll be tabling at a few more events this Earth Month and are actively preparing for International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW)! From May 1-9, we’ll be hosting a slew of composty events, including our finale Compost Festival, happening Saturday May 9 from 9-1 p.m. @scissortailpark! Follow @okcomposts and visit our website linked in bio for details on all our events! See you soon 😊
