POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

So grateful to have experienced VALDCon 2026 as my first. In the wake of acquiring @bridgeathletic and @gymaware , as well as hitting some major milestones, the energy was through the roof. The family had just grown a lot bigger. And projects our engineers have been working on were brought to light.

It really is an exciting time for @vald_performance + @vald_health with new ways to help people through exercise testing and training. Especially being from the valley where we tend to be 5-10 years behind with tech, seeing what is on the cutting edge of exercise science technology and the impact it will have on our communities is an inspiring thing to be a part of.

Looking forward to bringing these insights and technologies to elevate our community.

Stay beefy 🥩

🦍 Why More People Should Be Doing Plyos (Not Just Athletes) 🦍

I feel like I rarely see non-athletes doing plyometrics. But here’s the thing, response athletes train like sport athletes because their “game day” is every day. The same mindset should apply to the rest of us.

Whether you’re in the weight room or living real life, you need to be ready to move fast and powerfully. That’s where plyometrics come in.

🔑 Why Plyos Matter for Everyone:
1️⃣ Tendon & Joint Health → Heavy lifting builds muscle, but plyos strengthen tendons and joints, reducing injury risk and supporting long-term strength gains.

2️⃣ Explosive Power → Strength is the base, but power is what makes it useful. Moving weight is great—but moving yourself (or others) quickly is next-level.

3️⃣ Athletic Longevity → Plyos improve how your body absorbs and produces force, keeping you more resilient in training and life.

⚡️ Easy Way to Start:
Add jumps for time as your warm-up. Simple. No fancy setup—just moving your body explosively to prime your system.

Strong is good. Powerful is necessary.

Simple and effective today: repeat hurdle jumps for quick ground contact—been loving jumps in my warm-up. Cuts through the fluff and gets right to it. Bench for volume, worked up to a heavy-ish front squat. Simplicity and consistency. Stay ready, be capable⚔️

In the middle of conference play, time is limited, so staying consistent and efficient is key. This video combines two sessions, focusing on being smart with time and movements, getting effective reps, and doing what works and keeps me happy—squats, bench, cleans, and deads.

Training doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to fit your life. If you’re interested in this style of training, click the link in my linktree to sign up for our waitlist for Project X, Stay Ready Be Capable ⚔️

Messing around with some different training today, trying to build up to snatches. Left shoulder (labrum repair in 2018) has been feeling off—still dealing with that ‘sliding shoulder’ instability. Got some great advice from @benbrokaw1 on overhead squats to work on scap stability, so that’s the focus for now. Did some feel-good shoulder work, heavy deads, back work, and carries.

In the lab, thinking about how to address these kinds of issues for athletes in Project X—working through the weaknesses and building stability where it counts. Stay Ready. Be Capable. ⚔️
