I was going to record a big, polished video talking about this. But instead, I wanted to show you. I’m going to be entirely honest… For most of my life, I’ve struggled with female friendships (other than the few, you know who you are!). The unspoken competition, the jealousy disguised as support, the feeling that there was always another agenda hiding underneath it all. I genuinely never believed I could have a big circle of women around me and feel completely safe being myself. And then I created @sustyclub. Somehow, we found all the genuine ones, put them in one room and said: Go on then. Let’s watch you rise together. Women (and some brilliant men) who wholeheartedly want to see each other win. Who celebrate your success without questioning what it means for theirs. Who love you for the energy you bring, however big, loud, emotional or unapologetic that energy might be. What we’ve built is almost impossible to explain. It’s a bond. A safety. A power. And honestly, the friendships are what I’m most proud of throughout my entire business journey. One day, when my daughters ask me what Mummy built, I’ll tell them: I created the space I’d spent my whole life searching for. A place where people could be completely themselves, and be celebrated for it. A place where strength wasn’t threatening. Confidence wasn’t competition. And one woman’s power never made another woman less powerful. I know that’s a lot for a Sunday morning… But if you’re one of the genuine ones, the ones without an agenda, who want to love loudly, support wholeheartedly and watch other people fly, this is your space. It is cool to do fashion your way. A dream come true. 50p scarf clips as belt adornments. Vintage bowler hats, coats worn as dresses, £1 raincoats worn as Perspex pencil skirts. Old carrier bags worn as clutch bags, men’s cummerbunds worn as belts, hair clips as accenting jewels, using saturated colours against black as a slap of something fresh, big coat energy with academic shoes and bad bitch shades.

MANCHESTER FASHION WEEK ❤️‍🔥😭💘✨♻️ you filled my cup so full that I’m struggling to find my words today. I am touched and inspired and proud beyond belief, of myself, my friends, the community, my husband. A core memory made with the most fantastic people and I have to thank @laurenrestyle @sustyclub & @thetrenddisruptor for this opportunity and being so incredibly badass and inspiring.
