She’s a sunflower in human form. Meet my friend Kym, a cancer who extroverts like a mfer. She’s one of the many extroverts that adopted me in my 20s.

Last weekend, we celebrated her 40th birthday with a 90’s themed party, and it was A TIME! @pursue_______________ on the 1’s and 2’s (and the dance floor at the 2 min mark 🥳)

@_kymberlee_ , I truly do love you. Thank you for being exactly who you are 🌻 Keep on shining your bright, radiant light to the world. Your compassion for others should be studied. Please, never change, just boundary up so you can keep that gift sacred.

I love going through my Facebook photos because they remind me of how far I’ve come. I started blogging in 2014 as MarshBar’s Closet because I LOVED to get dressed. Fashion was my outlet, so I blogged my looks. Back then, access felt different. Fashion week had different energy, or maybe it’s my energy that’s changed. Back then, running from show to show was thrilling. Now I can only go two places in a day. After that, it’s time to go home.

I think about the woman I was back then. I was hungry. I went to all the things. I blogged my little heart out. It was a great outlet for me. These photos reminded me that I got myself in rooms because I deserved to be there. Back then, I was just happy to be there. But I never really understood that I got me there.

This was my pre-editorial era. Becoming a fashion editor felt like a natural transition. I’ll document that next because I’m feeling nostalgic. I’m about to fully step out of my editorial era, and step into my DMV era & my full-time entrepreneurial era *birdman palm rub*

Anyway, I doubt anyone read all of this, lol. Ppl don’t read captions anymore 😩

Sometimes I feel like I’m on a never-ending journey to self-discovery. There are moments when I knew exactly who I was, and then there’s now, where I’m shedding the woman who kept me safe to become the woman I’ve always wanted to be. I’m the understudy of my higher self, studying her every move so when it’s time to step up, I’m ready. These habits come naturally to her, but the current me needs practice. Here are a few I’m adopting this year (and beyond).

@kay_lyn_muahz , it was an honor being your bridesmaid! You were a gorgeous bride 😍. I had a time last night and I basically stayed out well past my bedtime, but it was worth it.

Thank you for every text, DM, post, and birthday message.

I’ve called this my roughest year because it stripped me of everything I thought I knew and left me bare. Even so, I was held. A community of people showed me what real support looks like. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who connected me to a contact, poured into me, or took time out of their day to guide me.

This year taught me the power of community and the kind of healing that comes from asking for help. I’ve always shown up as a resource, and this year that energy finally came back to me. If you weren’t tagged, blame my head, not my heart.

The most powerful part of creating these decks is hearing how they’ve found a home in people’s lives, in quiet moments, morning rituals, and even tough seasons. This is what it looks like when words become daily medicine.

Every card pulled is a seed planted for self-love, for clarity, and for peace. These are the moments that remind me why the Mindful Moon and Moon Child Decks exist.

Happy New Year to my beautiful friend, Kymberli; a true light in this world.

You’ve been the light at the end of so many dark tunnels, especially mine. An angel on earth wrapped in human form. I’ll never forget how you literally saved my life; less than 24 hours before I was set to start the police academy, you were there, steady and unwavering. That moment wasn’t just about an edible gone wrong (lol), it was about the way you’ve always shown up for me; with grace, with strength, and with love.

You’ve been my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and one of my dearest friends. And even though I always forget your birthday (forgive me!), this year is different. This year, we both became wives; something our pasts may have tried to convince us we didn’t deserve. But look at us now.

Watching you find love, real love, with a man like Dennis…the epitome of what it means to be a good man, fills my heart with so much joy. You deserve every ounce of that kind of love and more. The way you two love each other gives hope to those still searching.

So today, I celebrate you… your light, your loyalty, your heart. Everything beautiful and abundant in this life, I pray it finds its way to you tenfold. You are deserving of nothing less.

Happy birthday, sis. I love you always. 💛✨
