Lena currently lives and works in Western Massachusetts. “Altar of Impermanence ” 13x10x8” Acrylic on wood “My work explores the felt but unseen dimensions of personal healing and transformation. Deeply inspired by the immense beauty of the natural world, I create portals into a dream-space that exists in the abstract and symbolic. Guided by the belief that human beings are part of nature, not separate from it, and approach my art through a worldview rooted in hope and mysticism.” “Altar of Transformation” 16x16x3” Acrylic on wood “Altar of Connection” 16x12x4.5” Acrylic on wood See Lena’s work in our upcoming Folk Art & Flower Alter Show, opening September 17th at Lapis Room.

Art transforms spaces — and brings people together. On August 19, we celebrated the unveiling of Tide Portal, a stunning new waterfront mural by @_lena_mac_. Public art can transform an overlooked space into one that feels welcoming, vibrant, safe, and cared for. Seeing our community gather on Davol Street for an evening of art, music, and celebration was a beautiful reminder of what creative placemaking can do. Special shout-out to @keithsilvacreative of @artisticdancestudio for capturing the evening so beautifully! 🎥❤️ Keith has been a wonderful creative collaborator with FRACC. A huge thank you to everyone who made Tide Portal possible: @bloombergdotorg @massdot @baycoastbank @sunriseerectors @buttonwoodbrass @fallrivermassachusetts @onesouthcoastchamber FRACC looks forward to creating even more with and for Fall River. ❤️ 📍 Davol Street — go experience it for yourself! #TidePortal #FRACC #FallRiverMA #PublicArt FallRiverWaterfront CreativePlacemaking SouthCoastMA BloombergAI

I took these a few nights ago at sunset, but today is the official unveiling of “Tide Portal”, a new mural painted under the Davol Street overpass in Fall River, near the boardwalk between Battleship Cove and the pier. It’s been wonderful seeing this go from the outline all the way to the finished product, and is now a highlight of my photo walks/exercise in the area. Special thanks to the artist @_lena_mac_ for the incredible work to bring color and character to the waterfront, and to @the_fracc for helping to make this a reality. #mural #muralpainting #streetphotography #urbanphotography #waterfront
