"This quest for meaning amongst the cosmic – 'a symbol of the unknown and the powerful' in the artist’s words – is one to which Sammut feels she can devote her whole practice, and indeed, as she tells me, her life. 'I’m interested in using the cosmic as a way of pulling us out of the myopic tendency we have as humans,' she says: 'to move myself and the viewer to a different space.'"

In our current issue, Lisa Sammut speaks with Erin McFadyen about gesture, the emotion of objects, and movement as a medium. Celebrating the opening of her show FULL CIRCLE at Mosman Art Gallery, we share this special article to our website this evening. Head to the link in bio now to read their discussion, or to subscribe and have a beautiful print copy delivered to your door.

Memory lane: Cute moments from ‘Angles & Views’ which I curated at Ye olde @coldcutsprojectspace (remember the days!).
.
It was a humble little space (run by some wonderful friends & me) that attempted to provide an alternative place for artists & curators to experiment and show their works and that required no intense monetary investment for the artists. Don’t forget that their are ways of creating alternatives for showing work too like a busted little garage in your backyard 💙🥩 #memories #RIPcoldcuts

Tysm to everyone who pulled through to the opening of 'Mixed Business', Pari's first annual exhibition on Feb 1 🥵🥵 on that hectic 43 degree day.

Next time we will freeze the zooper dooper's the night before so that we can actually eat them rather than use them as an ice pack wit a 20min life span.

Ty to the Mixed Business artists, writers and curators who are all a part of Pari's extended family, who volunteer their time to build, paint and run this space.

Thank you to the gallery keepers, facilitators, the bbs who helped out at the bar and everyone who walks through the doors and holds space with us. Pari is entirely volunteer run and we are forever grateful to you all for creating space for us to come together in this way <3

We're delighted to have Lisa Sammut create a mural for the Level 3 lift foyer.
.
Lisa is a graduate of UNSW and her mural 'Waiting room' features playful geometric forms on the precipice of movement.

Lisa's work is part of the UNSW Library Alumni Mural Commission series which celebrates diversity at UNSW and highlights the excellence of UNSW graduates.
