Earlier this week, I was invited by @youthformentalheallth to be a part of Confab, their Youth Mental Health Festival 🤍

There’s something special about seeing so many psychology students and creators under one roof. Students who are curious, asking questions, serious about their careers, and genuinely wanting to become better professionals. In a country like India, seeing psychology get the space and platform it deserves feels incredibly special.

I facilitated a session simplifying the RCI and NCAHP guidelines, reconnected with fellow psychology creators, and met so many people who reminded me why I do what I do.

I can only hope that 10-15 years from now, we look back at this generation and see professionals who are not just qualified, but compassionate, competent, and actually making a difference in people's lives. And I'm so glad I get to play a small part in that journey.

A special thank you to @aditi who travelled all the way from her race to shoot content for me (the kind of effort you don't take for granted 🥹), and to @tanish_sng, who is always my biggest support system. For holding all my things, helping me gather myself when I'm all over the place, and being the steady anchor to my chaos. These little wins feel so much bigger when your people are there to celebrate them with you.

Thank you, @kunwarinayat and @hiteshsanwall for having me at Confab. Here's to more spaces like these, and to a future where mental health professionals get to make the difference this country so deeply needs. 🫶🏻

Someone asked if I was tired of fake smiling and needed a break. There’s something you should know about me.

The time around my birthday is usually low. The days are getting shorter, birthday blues are doing their rounds, I want to be by myself, yet these events force me to be around people who are full of enthusiasm and happiness. I love every moment of them. It’s probably my favorite week of the year. I get to talk, smile, laugh, and share moments with people I probably won’t see again for a year.

A PhD is a lonely process. A PhD in Psychology, even more so. You might think a large online community means there are always people nearby I can talk to, but that is not true. Remember when I kept an open invitation for my birthday party two years ago, and no one showed up? (😅)

So when I get the chance to be around people, I will grab it with both hands. I have gotten used to being alone. I even like to tell myself I enjoy it, but the truth is I like being outgoing, and talking and having fun. So if you think these events drain energy out of me, they do... a little...but they also immediately become the best part of my week straight away. All the interactions, all the photos, all the smiles and the jokes, they are all very real for me, cause, in some ways, they are all I have.

This is emotional for me. You see me happy winning this but when my name was announced as the winner, I was barely keeping it together.

Why? Because it was something I almost considered dropping out of.

I still remember how happy I was when my research abstract was shortlisted thinking I got a chance at presenting my research, my work at AIIMS. But the very next day, I had to rush to the hospital (my Naani was hospitalized). I also had to prepare a presentation & send it for further shortlisting procedure. My Naani was still there with me in the hospital. However I ended up making and sharing the presentation. The next day she passed away. I was broken. Torn. Not even in the space. I didn't care if it was AIIMS..

It wasn't even 4 days, that we had to now present online. I couldn't. I told my family & they told me to go for it. For her. Cause she would want to see me doing this.

Idk why but since she passed away, I have been anxious, fidgety, flustered angry and emotional. Grieving probably.
I sat, gathered the courage & ended up giving the online presentation.

Out of the shortlisted 50-51 people, I got further shortlisted as one of the TOP 4 to present their research at AIIIMS. Big name. Real work, Big deal. So much at stake. At this point, I took it as a sign and was 100% committed to it. Almost as if it was my agenda to give my best shot & I did.

Yesterday, I presented my research "Effects of Secondary traumatic stress, Moral injury & Spillover effects on Clinical psychologists" in front of so many people and dignitaries & I kid you not, I was so anxious

So so anxious that I even threw up before presenting. Cause maybe at this point it wasn't about the research anymore. It was just me trying to hold on to it for her. A thought that I've to be good. I've to do good. For her. She would want that.

And honestly I was just happy to present my work on the stage. I didn't even know it was a competition until 2 days back & to think that I could win this?

And? We WON. We actually made it through. Not only I presented at such a platform & won it but IT'S ALSO GETTING PUBLISHED ✨

This is for you Naani. I told you I'll make you proud. Here I am❤️

Confab 26

A mental health event that helps you find peace so easily, I guess the purpose was truly fulfilled.

Confab was a beautiful event hosted by @youthformentalheallth , and all the hard work and effort were evident. Everything was planned with such precision, the stalls, speeches, talks, and the nukkad natak. It was an amazing blend of mental health awareness with a light, refreshing atmosphere. Thanks to @sukhmanchtheatre

I got to reconnect with old friends, longtime friends, and even older friends.
Meeting former students, interns, and familiar faces, and having people recognize me by name was such a wonderful feeling

Meeting @_knightofsteel , @innersanctuary_in , @_little.extra_ , @akshitara , @dammit._.aishwarya @psy.esprit i, and @aakritijindal5 i was the cherry on top.

I also got to see @dr.itishanagar a ma'am live for the first time.

Sadly and strangely, I have pictures with no one because the joy of seeing all these wonderful people made me forget that I was living in 2026 with an Instagram account to post on.
