I have the most fun friends on the planet. 😂

One of my favorite things about us is that I can send them some completely ridiculous reel and say, “We HAVE to recreate this,” and instead of questioning my sanity, they’re basically like… when and where? 😂

And that is exactly how we ended up wandering around in the dark in matching nightgowns with creepy paper bags over our heads. Totally normal behavior for grown women. 👻🎃. We actually got a little spooked ourselves.

We took these pictures back in JULY and I have been patiently waiting for spooky season to finally unleash them on the world. And honestly, taking them was even funnier than the pictures themselves. We laughed so hard, wandered around in the dark looking absolutely unhinged, thought we were going to be eaten by lions, tigers and bears (oh my), and somehow turned another one of my harebrained ideas into one of my favorite memories.

Find yourself friends who don’t just tolerate your crazy ideas… they put on the nightgown, grab the paper bag, and come along for the adventure. 😂

👵💕 Annual Girls Trip 2026 | Day 5 & That’s a Wrap 💕👵

By Day 5, we had officially reached the point where no amount of caffeine could save us! 😂 After breakfast, we explored the Dinosaur Quarry, enjoyed a picnic at Josie’s Cabin, and even kept our eyes peeled for out-of-state license plates to help Jenny earn another one of her merit badges.

After days of nonstop adventure, we finally admitted defeat and took an afternoon nap. 😴 It was exactly what we needed before one last evening together.

We made mocktails, tie-dyed shirts, had dinner at Vernal Brewing Company, and finished our trip with a night hike to Moonshine Arch. Well…we started a night hike. 😅 Between the darkness and our imaginations running wild with “lions and tigers and bears, oh my,” we didn’t make it very far. But we still managed to get some epic granny photos in our matching wigs and nightgowns and even took a few Halloween pictures you’ll have to watch for in October! 🎃👵

Five days. Countless laughs. Incredible adventures. Beautiful places. And memories that will last a lifetime.

When we planned this trip, we didn’t know where I’d be in my cancer journey. Choosing to stay in Vernal turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. I loved sharing this incredible place that I’ve grown to love with two of my favorite people.

Until next year’s girls trip…❤️

👵💕 Annual Girls Trip 2026 | Day 4 💕👵

Day 4 was one for the books!

After coffee and avocado toast, we packed a picnic and headed to Big Brush Creek Ice Cave. We squeezed in another granny photo shoot after climbing down the steep ropes into one of the coolest places (literally!) around Vernal.

Then the adventure really began! What we thought would be a quick storm turned into 2 hours stuck in the cave with a Boy Scout troop while thunder echoed and lightning lit up the canyon. We finally hiked out in the rain because it just wasn’t letting up and we were freezing!

Next stop: Oaks Park, where we explored the historic buildings, had a picnic on a log, and…it actually snowed on us at nearly 10,000 feet!

A couple hours later, we were at Flaming Gorge in swimsuits, jumping into the lake wearing our granny wigs! 😂 We had to convince Jenny to jump in, but she’s just as adventurous as us so she did. I even caught a fish before we wrapped up the day with dinner at Flaming Gorge Lodge.

From snow to sunshine, ice caves to lake jumps, this day perfectly captured why I love sharing Vernal with my favorite people. ❤️

👵💕 Annual Girls Trip 2026 | Day 3 💕👵

Today’s adventure was one I’ve been so excited to share with Jenny and Dawnetta…rafting through Split Mountain! 🌊 my first time too!

We started the morning with coffee and avocado toast before heading out for a full day on the Green River. And because we’re fully committed to this Granny Girls Trip, our matching wigs and nightgowns made another appearance for a photo shoot after we hit the water. 😂👵

The day was absolutely perfect! We floated through the breathtaking scenery of Split Mountain, stopped to check out ancient petroglyphs (which were SO HOT in more ways than one…the rock and we were practically baking! 🥵), and then happily jumped back into the cool river.

We laughed our way down the river, turned one of the rapids into our own little water slide, and even jumped off a rock into the river! The cold water felt AMAZING after the summer heat, and I don’t think any of us stopped smiling all day.

After a full day of adventure, we came home for homemade mocktails, enjoyed a delicious dinner at 7-11 Ranch Restaurant, and wrapped up the evening painting mugs while reliving all of our favorite moments from the day.

This trip has reminded me how healing it is to spend time with people who know you so well. Six months ago, we weren’t sure what this girls trip would look like because of my cancer journey. Today, we spent the day floating through one of the most beautiful places in Utah, laughing until our cheeks hurt, and making memories I’ll treasure forever. Who would have thought I would be jumping in a river about six weeks after a double mastectomy.

These grannies are proving that adventure doesn’t have an age limit. 💕👵🌊

👵💕 Annual Girls Trip 2026 | Day 2 💕👵

Who says grannies can’t have adventures? 😄

Day 2 started exactly how every great girls trip should with a slow morning, hot coffee, no agenda (for at least an hour 😆), and catching up around the kitchen table.

Then it was time to show Jenny and Dawnetta one of my favorite places around Vernal…Fantasy Canyon! Get there early to beat the heat (it was HOT!), and of course, we couldn’t resist another photo shoot in our matching granny wigs and nightgowns. Let me tell you…seeing three “grannies” wandering through one of the most unique landscapes in Utah definitely turned a few heads (well it would’ve if anybody else would’ve been there)! 😂

After working up an appetite, we grabbed lunch at Brew Haus before strolling down Main Street, popping into all the cute little shops. Naturally, we had to stop traffic for another granny photo shoot right in the middle of downtown. At this point, we’ve fully committed to the theme, and honestly, it’s making the trip even more memorable.

The day ended with what might have been the best steak I’ve ever made, homemade mocktails, and bedazzling absolutely everything we could get our hands on. If it sat still long enough, it probably got rhinestones. ✨😂

The older I get, the more I realize that the best memories aren’t made by doing extravagant things. They’re made by laughing until your stomach hurts, being completely ridiculous with your best friends, and soaking up every minute together.

I have a feeling these grannies are just warming up. 💕👵

👵💕 Annual Girls Trip 2026 | Day 1 💕👵

Every year, my friends Jenny, Dawnetta, and I take an annual girls trip. When we started planning this one, we had no idea where I would be in my cancer journey, or even how I would be feeling. Instead of planning a big vacation, we decided to play it safe and have a “Granny Girls Trip” right here in Vernal.

Honestly…I couldn’t have been more excited.

I’ve fallen in love with Vernal over the past few years and couldn’t wait to show them all of the amazing places, hidden gems, and adventures I’ve discovered. We leaned all the way into the granny theme with matching wigs and vintage nightgowns, and let’s just say…the photo opportunities have been absolutely priceless! 😂👵

Day 1 Highlights:

🍹 Homemade mocktails
💎 Diamond art class with our resident expert, Jenny
🍦 Cold Stone ice cream
👵 A hilarious granny photo shoot in our matching wigs and nightgowns

Sometimes the best trips aren’t about going somewhere far away. They’re about the people you’re with. After everything this past year has brought, this trip is one I have looked forward to

There’s something about places that didn’t make it…
that still refuse to disappear.

Metropolis, Nevada was supposed to be the next big thing.
Built in the early 1900s with big dreams of farming, industry, and a thriving desert town.

It had a hotel. A school. A town square.
And that arch… once the entrance to it all.

But the water didn’t last.
Drought hit. Crops failed.
And just like that… people left.

By the 1920s, it was over.

Now all that’s left are pieces—
walls that don’t lead anywhere,
stairs that climb to nothing,
and silence that somehow still feels loud.

We drove out here chasing a ghost…
and found a reminder instead.

Not everything is meant to last.
But some places still leave a mark long after they’re gone.

Maybe living your best life just means slowing down enough to see how good it already is.

Ever seen this before?

That ring around the sun is a 22° halo—formed when sunlight bends through tiny ice crystals high in the atmosphere.

Basically… geometry happening in the sky.

Not every wild thing out here is on the ground.
You just have to slow down enough to notice it.

Blink and it’s gone.

Remember when Gunlock Falls used to be a secret?

I remember when we could go out there and spend the entire day without seeing another soul.

Now the second the water starts spilling over the dam, the news blasts it everywhere and suddenly the place is packed… cars for miles and people in every direction.

That’s what happens when a hidden place becomes headline news.

So instead of joining the crowds, we took the 4x4 bus out for a serious test run.

The ride was intense, but it’s pretty crazy what that thing can do. Crawling over rocks, climbing hills, and getting us into places most people wouldn’t even try.

Sometimes the best adventures start where the crowds end.
