September felt like a month I wanted to hold onto because so much of it was beautiful.

Beautiful rooms. Beautiful meals. Beautiful people. Long conversations. Loud laughter. Tiny pauses where I looked around and thought, I hope I remember this.

Maybe that’s what these photo dumps are really for.

Proof that life was here.
That we were here.
That somewhere between the plans and the chaos and the very full calendar, there were moments that felt soft and golden and worth keeping.

One year ago, on September 23, our machines arrived at TREMBLE Ottawa. 🥹

At the time, they were just 11 very intimidating-looking reformers sitting in a studio waiting for everything we had imagined to actually happen.

Then you showed up…

First classes. First shakes. First “WTF is this?”moments. 😂
 And somewhere along the way, this little room under the red lights became a community.

TREMBLE after dark.

At TREMBLE, we pride ourselves on providing the most effective, functional, and intentional workout to our community. Not only is it athletic and results-driven, but we also make it fun, for both our instructors and our clients.

Nearly 180 people. Three posts. One city.

I started this series because I was tired of being one of the only Asians in rooms that claimed to represent Ottawa, and tired of hearing, “We couldn’t find anyone.”

So I decided to show you.

I barely left my own network.

These are leaders, entrepreneurs, creators, healthcare professionals, artists, public servants, chefs, educators, community builders and people moving Ottawa forward every single day.

The bar was never lowered. Your network just wasn’t wide enough to see them.

Talent is everywhere. Access to opportunity is not.

And the response proved the point: 100,000+ people reached, a CBC Ottawa Morning interview, new introductions, new opportunities, and countless messages saying, “I had no idea they were in Ottawa.”

Exactly.

So stop asking, “Who do we already know?”

Start asking, “Who haven’t we met yet?”

This is Ottawa. And this still isn’t everyone. ❤️
