FYB PERSONALITY OF THE DAY

Meet Sanusi Muhammad✨
Some people find deep meaning in the moments that matter, and Sanusi Muhammed is exactly that.

An Agricultural Economics student with a love for reading novels, Sanusi carries a thoughtful, grounded spirit. His most memorable moment in JCI is a beautiful one, the moment he read the Creed during induction, a memory that clearly still holds weight in his heart.

His advice to intending members is one to hold onto: “Participate in the LO’s activities and get involved as much as possible.” And with a warm shout-out to all House Apollo members, Sanusi reminds us that belonging begins with showing up. 🔥
Join us in celebrating today’s FYB Personality, a heart rooted in purpose and presence.

Leadership is not only about holding positions; it is about showing up, contributing, connecting, and being recognized through impact.

I had the privilege of attending the Economic Legislative Summit 2026 at Obafemi Awolowo University as a delegate representing both the Federation of Oyo State Students (FOSSU OAU) and the Department of Agricultural Economics.

I’m sincerely grateful to the Economics Students’ Representative Council for the recognition, hospitality, and acknowledgment shown towards me throughout the program.

From the voucher gifted to me by the leadership to the items shared for my followers, and the thoughtful gift from D Blaq, this was beyond just attending a summit; it was another reminder that consistency, visibility, and service never go unnoticed.

Still learning. Still serving. Still growing.

September, 2025, I took a bold step in my creative journey to learn graphics design. This decision was made to both enhance my creativity and also acquire a highly demanded skill, both of which I was able to lay claim to.

The "Think.Click.Create" class managed to stretch me beyond my normal self and I am grateful my tutor, @ayo_mide204 was able to be patient and understand some of the shortcomings while learning.

Overall, it was definitely a worthwhile experience.

Over the past months too, I have had the opportunity to use this skill across organizations and I am glad to start sharing this journey here.

This platform will be one where I fully express my creative self and I welcome you to journey with me as we go along here🤭.

October 1st: The Weight of Freedom

They told us in 1960,
that freedom had come,
that chains had fallen,
that the eagle could finally stretch its wings.

But freedom is not just a date,
not just a flag,
not just an anthem.
Freedom is the memory of chains,
and the courage to never wear them again.

We remember the cocoa, the groundnut pyramids,
the coups, the silence, the civil war.
We remember mothers who wailed,
children who starved,
blood spilled where democracy should have grown.

Independence has not always felt like freedom.
Sometimes, it felt like mourning.
But even in shadows, we never stopped hoping.

Hope is the teacher with chalk and hunger.
Hope is the farmer planting despite drought.
Hope is the youth who writes, sings, creates,
the market woman who still laughs,
the child who dreams beyond borders.

Nigeria, 65 years and counting
you are not yet what you should be,
but you are not what you used to be.
Your scars are lessons,
your pain is soil,
and from it, peace will grow.

So today, let us not just wave the flag.
Let us carry it with meaning.
Because independence is not a gift we were given,
it is a fire we must keep alive.

Nigeria, our mother, our struggle, our hope.
Happy Independence Day.
