Many improvisers. One crown. Plenty of questionable decisions.

Good Camel’s Oasis Laugh Battle is back at LUSH next Thursday, October 29! Doors open at 7 PM and show starts at 7:30 PM.

Come watch improvisers battle it out with comedy made up on the spot. Big characters, bold choices, and every reason to get out of the house.

A major thank-you to LUSH for being such a wonderful host and to everyone who’s come out to our shows and helped make these nights so much fun!

Bring your people. Come laugh with us.

Thursday needs more joy. We’ve got a whole cast for that.

Good Camel Comedy Theater is at LUSH this Thursday, September 24! Come laugh with Dorian, Karyn, and Amanda, with Sophie on keys.

Big love to LUSH for being such wonderful, fun partners and champions of this adventure. Thank you for helping us make room for play, connection, and the joy of making things up together.

Production: Anthony Ruffin

Good Camel’s Musical Improv Jam is taking August off.

We’re under construction and letting the jam take a new shape. More soon.

In the meantime, please enjoy August. Rest, play, melt slightly, and we’ll see you again when the music returns.

Good Camel Live is back at Bryant Lake Bowl on Wednesday, August 5.

We open the night with Brotha Brotha, the two-person improv duo featuring Denzel Belin and John Gebretatose. It is fast, ridiculous, and a tornado of laughs.

Then Lt. Sunnie brings the music.

Then Nakima takes the stage with true stories.

After that, the Good Camel cast turns those stories into completely improvised comedy, made up live in the moment.

And yes, Rahil appears as Twin Cities New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani, bringing the clarity our mayor situation desperately needs.

Improv. Music. Storytelling. Comedy.

Thank you to everyone who came to LUSH last night.

Tomme Beevas told lovely stories about jerk chicken, spicy food in Minnesota, good weather, equality, neighbors, and the strange little miracle of people trying to love each other without making everyone become the same person.

The Unpronounceables performed, which is always risky.

John and Alsa did their best to behave. They did not.

Amazing show tonight by the lovely cast Amanda, Dorian, Raahil, Karyn, and Sophie on keys for making the whole night feel alive, generous, and a little dangerous in the best way.

The theme became clear:

Let people be themselves.

Love your neighbor anyway.

Tell the truth, but bring snacks.

Thank you for being there. Truly. And go eat at @pimentokitchen today!!

Tomme Beevas is bringing the true story. We are making up everything that happens next.

On Thursday, July 30, the founder of Pimento Jamaican Kitchen joins Good Camel as our special guest storyteller for Oasis Laugh Battle.

Tomme is an entrepreneur, community leader, and expert at turning a room full of strangers into a community. That makes him exactly the kind of storyteller we want on our stage.

Good Camel uses humor to speak truth to power. Tomme has spent years doing the same through food, hospitality, and service. Having him join us means a great deal.

He will tell us a true story. Then our performers will use it to create comedy live onstage.

Nothing written. Nothing rehearsed. One true story becomes an entire world.

The Good Camel house cast will compete in fast, completely improvised comedy. Nobody gets eliminated, but one performer will leave with the entirely serious and legally meaningless title of funniest performer of the evening.

Then The Unpronounceables take the stage.

John Gebretatose and Alsa Bruno co-founded Blackout Improv and the Black and Funny Improv Festival. They have performed together as a duo since 2016, which is plenty of time to learn each other’s habits and misuse that information publicly.

Never seen improv before? Perfect. This is a terrific place to start.

Bring a friend. Grab a drink. Come see what happens.

Thursday, July 30
Doors: 7 PM
Show: 7:30 PM sharp

Ten years is a dangerous amount of time to improvise with somebody.

John Gebretatose and Alsa Bruno are The Unpronounceables. They co-founded Blackout Improv and the Black and Funny Improv Festival, and have performed together as a duo since 2016.

Now they are bringing a special set to Oasis Laugh Battle, where the Good Camel house cast competes to crown the funniest performer of the night.

After ten years together, John and Alsa know exactly how to surprise each other, cause trouble, and keep going long after sensible people would have stopped.

Never seen improv before? Perfect. This is a terrific place to start.

Don’t give up on Uptown yet. A/O to @_mandemonium_ for telling about the newest and dopest space for artists located in Uptown Minneapolis.

@zomahouse is here 🙏🏿❤️ right when we need it most!!

I went to their Tuesday work night at Lake and Hennepin, and the room was full of people writing, making art, meeting each other, and getting on with it.

It was 0% pretense. All love!

Just bring your work, sit down, and make something.

Zoma House is Black-led, generous, alive, and exactly the kind of place Uptown needs.

Go see what happens.
