Maxine is two weeks old today 💕

Her cute little face is getting us through the long days.

While Jessie was post-op, DadMax was the primary caretaker for the first week. He is now an expert swaddler and calmly handles the scariest of diaper changes.

Maxine hates sponge baths more than anything in the world (so far). But she loves her shark swaddle towel from Aunty Echo.

Our first-born, Detective Blueberry, is a model older sister. She spends all day watching over Maxine, even during bouts of crying.

Maxine is an expert at eating and sleeping. She and her mom have that in common.

Maxine Amadea Char arrived yesterday on 9/26/26 at 8:58 AM, a New Yorker, born on the same day as George Gershwin and Serena Williams.

In the womb she attended the opera and ballet, partied on the streets after listening to the Knicks win, and communicated with our cat through an advanced system of kicks and purrs.

She will grow up so lucky, because she will know all of you, artists and dancers and scientists and scholars and makers. We can’t wait for her to meet you all.

ITS THE DAY OF THE SHOW Y’ALL! Or in this case, it’s not just a regular day at the Rouge, it’s the very last one of all 💔 What a trip to be given the gift of FIVE years on Broadway. For a freelance musician who has spent a career hopping from one gig to the next, one tour to another, it cannot be expressed how lucky I felt to have a home base (and a locker!) in midtown for five years. Not only that but I got to go to work every day with some of the most freakishly talented, funny, goofy, beautiful humans I’ve ever known. The second picture here is from our grand reopening after the shut down and the third is from a couple days ago. It’s crazy to think of all the major life moments that have passed between. Thank you @m2musicnyc for hiring me!!Massive shoutout to my two MDs @jewelsmcb and @andrewscottgraham and my string quartet family @the_rachelgolub @kikuindaface #maximmoston and last but not least @katiekresek who not only led us from the CM chair with finesse and artistry EVERY SHOW but she also orchestrated our parts which were a freaking joy to play. I may have aged in these last five years but the music really and truly never got old. That’s because Moulin Rouge will go down in time and legend as one of the greatest hit shows of Broadway. The energy of the cast, the sets, the costumes, the choreography are SO insanely dazzling from beginning to end. It is and will forever be a sparkling diamond, not just for all the audiences but in my heart too. Last shoutout and perhaps the most important goes to my PHENOMENAL sub cellists who held down the fort for me when I couldn’t be there. Y’all were there for me and there for the show and you represented!!! Thank you thank you. Here’s to TRUTH, BEAUTY, FREEDOM, and LOVE ❤️💃🐘⭐️
