We are thrilled to announce our September resident at ✶ PISO TÉRMICO Residency ✶

🌀 Victor Evink 🌀

Victor Evink (b. 1987, Bogotá) is a Utrecht-based artistic researcher, born in Colombia and adopted to the Netherlands. Drawing from a background in Science and Technology Studies (STS), his practice revolves around the evolution of knowledge systems, technology, and peripheral subcultures. Working conceptually and curatorially, he gravitates toward collaboration, most notably through his longstanding creative partnership @liminal.vision and the community-oriented initiative @boundary.object. Informed by his lived experience as both neurodivergent and a transcontinental adoptee, his work engages with speculative futures, ontological plurality, and navigating inner worlds.

The pattern was here before the names.

Threads crossing centuries. Signals without origin. Memory moving beneath history.

Follow the lines long enough and something begins to look back.

Wat een feestje was dit! 💚

Now that the @backroomsmovie is trending, it's good moment to revisit the "liminal space" film that I co-created in 2022 as duo @liminal.vision . Not in the sense of internet-culture horror, but rather as a poetic, psycho-spiritual approach to "lingering", even "dancing" with complexities and tensions, in systems, but especially inside of ourselves.

Read my new article "Dancing With the Trouble" on Substack, my most fundamental one so far I think.

Very happy with the two remixes to complete the EP! While the original music recording and simple synths were from 2020, and the environmental sounds and extra synths were from early 2022, the two experimental ambient re-interpretations were produced over the last months on the basis of a few recovered stems. One by our frequent collaborator, the Venezuelan sound designer & ambient producer @daveadam_ , the other by sonic worldbuilder and conceptual artist @wat3rmaid .
