dear softball,

it’s been over a week since you’ve ended, but here I am still not ready to give you up. for the past 13 years of my life this game has been my life. thank you for the countless memories made, the lessons learned, the hard times, and for giving me the absolute time of my life. every teammate, no matter how long, has become family and that is something I will cherish forever. rec-ball and travel ball fueled my love for this game, but nothing could have prepared me for kelly hawks softball.

kelly hawks softball was the greatest gift God could have ever given me. this team was more than just a team, it was family. from two practices a day, running for errors, and the hot practices, playing with my girls made all the hard work worth it. to my seniors, there is no better group I could have asked for to be leaders by my side this last year, I love you all. my juniors, there is nobody else I would have rather spent these past 3 years with. thank you for being positive and always giving me a reason to smile every day, you guys will be such amazing leaders next year. to my sophomores and freshman, this is the best group of people I could have ever asked for my last year. your hard work and determination will get you so far in life. thank you for cheering me on, making me laugh always, and for always singing Rihanna will me @bella_o_allred

to coach mel, coach rat, and coach dunlap, thank you for shaping me into the person and player I am today. I would not be the same if it weren’t for you and I will forever cherish every moment that I was coached by you all. to my parents, thank you for being my biggest supporters in life. thank you for the hours of batting practice in the cages, money spent on travel tournaments, and all the sacrifices you have made for me. to the elite 3, I could have not made it through these last 4 years without you two. no matter where we go, I will always be your guys biggest supporter.

I can’t believe that it’s over and I honestly don’t know if I ever will. I will forever cherish every moment I spent playing this game and I am heartbroken it has come to an end. softball, thank you for everything💛 #18out

kelly lady hawks softball… where would i be without you? i have learned many things in life from many people, but nothing has taught me more than this game, with this team. wearing this uniform has been one of the biggest honors in my life. during my career at kelly, i have not only grown as a player, but as a teammate. seeing my girls succeed is even better than achieving anything i ever have. this team has impacted my life in many ways to say the least and i would not be where i am today without it. kelly lady hawks softball has taught me that you will never get anything handed to you… working hard and determination is what brings you to success. you have to want it more than anything, because your coaches, parents and teammates can’t want it for you. a positive mindset is the best mindset. no matter how many mistakes you make, pick yourself up and play your game. and lastly, enjoy every minute of every practice and game. it flies by way faster than you will realize.

to my teammates, you have made this season the best yet and it’s because of each and every one of you. my seniors, this was such a fun ride and i’m so happy we could spend it together! my juniors, these past three years have been great and you all will be such great leaders next year! my sophomores and freshies, i couldn’t have asked for a more fun group to end my final season with! you gals are so talented, leave it all out on the field. and Avree, i’m so proud of you sis, the past two years have been a blast and i’m so thankful i got the chance to play with you. i love you chick🤍
to coach mel, coach rat, and coach dunlap, you all have impacted me to be the player i am today and i couldn’t ask for a better set of coaches! i loved every minute of it, thank you all.
i am heartbroken to say that it’s over and i honestly can’t even believe it…. but there are more big things ahead of me! thank you lady hawks softball, i will miss you dearly! #13out

Dear Kelly softball, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for accepting little sophomore year clara in & loving her. This team has brought me some of my most fond memories and moments. And taught me more than I could have ever expected. I am eternally grateful.
To my teammates, past and present, I could not be more thankful for you. You have made me who I am today. Every single one of you has impacted me in some way or another. Teaching me to pull my weight and to know my value. And having so much faith in me & my abilities. To my baby freshman, you are my pride & joy. You have so much potential & don’t let ANYONE tell you otherwise. Even though our season together has come to an end, I will always be your biggest fan.
To any present or future Kelly softball players, play every game like it could be your last. Cheer on your teammates, never ever stop. Wearing Kelly across your chest is an honor, treat it like one. No team can even compare. And be the good in any dugout that you step into. Even if you don’t start, even if you don’t play well, have faith that your teammates will. Kelly softball, I love you beyond measure. This program and team has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. As always, “good luck ladies”
Love, Clara Grace 🤍 #7out
