Had the best time leading a group for the @starbucks Run Club x @nylonmag, followed by a post-run dance party at Starbucks Reserve. What a morning!

There’s something special about bringing people together through movement and sharing a moment where everyone is simply present, having fun, and enjoying life.

Getting to experience it alongside friends I love made it even more meaningful. One of those mornings I’ll carry with me for a long time. 🤎

So grateful to be part of it all.

🏃🏽‍♀️Consistency looks so good on me! And This is why we show up✨

Today I ran my FIRST 5K with the @nylonmag × @starbucks Run Club 5K & an After-Party celebration! 🏁

3 years ago, my legs could barely move. Today, I’m running 5K. Who would have thought? #spinalcancersurvivor

A reminder that the body can rebuild, the mind can grow stronger, and with faith, determination, and consistency, we are capable of so much more than we imagine.

One step at a time. One victory at a time.

Alexmil Reyes initially immersed himself in the New York City cycling scene.   That’s where he dove deep into performance through his mid-to-late 20s, training for and competing in various races throughout the NYC area. But with so much of a focus on speed, it didn’t leave much room for the community side. 
So when Alexmil got into running, that community emphasis is what he fell in love with the most. Eventually he started running with @wructew and @circa95, through which he’s traveled to Puerto Rico for the Lola Challenge and even returned to his biking roots as a pacer at this year’s OSR30. He says he rarely signs up for races, and that those types of events with friends are what he’s trying to lean into now as a runner—a distinct shift from his origins in the endurance world. 
“Cycling taught me a lot of what it is to try to perform well in an endurance sport, which I really appreciate,” Alexmil says. “Because now when I run, I’ll run through hell. But the community aspect is what’s kept me running this long.” 
We spoke with Alexmil to discuss his takeaways from the OSR30, We Run Uptown’s Mile 21 cheer section at the New York City Marathon, trying out new experiences within the NYC running scene and more.  Read the full interview at the link in bio.
