The first time was scary as hell.

For Sagicor Sigma 2025, I almost didn’t show up.

Five kilometres sounded bigger in my head than it was on the road. I questioned whether I’d finish. I questioned whether I even belonged there.

Then the horn went off.

Fear turned into adrenaline. I looked to my right and left. The fit. The fit at heart. And at the front, some people with literally no legs, moving with power most people only talk about.

That checked me immediately- I realized I had it all wrong.

Knutsford Boulevard reminded me of something simple. The road doesn’t adjust for you.
Stay in your lane. Run your race. Eyes on the finish.

And guess what? This year I beat my time from last year. I ran some stretches. Walked others. Managed my breath. Managed my mind. And for me that’s growth.

Barrelling down Half Way Tree Road with my big belly heading toward the finish line, I felt something shift again. Confidence. Not noise. Not hype. Just quiet belief….

When I looked up and saw FINISH, I knew one thing.

I did my best.
I showed up.
I got the job done. 💪🏾

Spent Labour Day 2025 with my people, my family, THE NYCJ FAMILY!

The vision to create a space for youth to dominate never ceases. And while the “space” we speak of is more than just physical, the physical environment must be conducive for true dominance to emerge.

Together, alongside the beautiful ladies from Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, we were able to “spruce up” the Youth Innovation Centre in St. Catherine; home of the St. Catherine Parish Youth Council.

How did you spend your Labour Day?

In the past few weeks so much has happened. From learning how to properly work, to working the stage in front of people.

I’ve really been put out my comfort zone, which has allowed me start on a journey that I wanted so badly at 10 years old.

I am extremely proud of myself for coming so far and working on something that went from a dream to a goal.

Thank you for everyone for all the love and support in all of this. Thank you to @missuniversejamaicaeast_ for the opportunity and a special thanks to @cityfusion for sponsoring my journey
