"We don't say 'hands up, don't shoot' anymore. We are done putting ourselves in the position of the victim. We are done being victims. The onus to be peaceful should always fall on the oppressor, and not on the oppressed. From now on, we say 'hands up, fight back'. Every march, every name, every vote, every body in the street is one blow against a system that has kept us down for too long."

This past week protests have errupted all over the states for Breonna Taylor. Some have been going on for 110 days. The protestors demand to see the Grand Jury transcripts and the cops to be fired.

Protestors are being arrested by the police every night. See the link in bio to support them by donating to bail funds.

In Brooklyn on Friday night, protestors marched from Barclays center to the Brooklyn Bridge. They sat their for 90 minutes until they were moved by 50 police vans.

The power of peaceful protest. —- Repost from @_oyoma - Organized protests, like the one that occured on June 2nd, 2020, are radically different than what most of you have been seeing. Similar to the second day of protesting in Washington, D.C, this protest was thought out, planned, and organized by a small leadership team. On the day where military presence grew the most, it feels like the entire city came together. Police and military officers expected us to go to the White House, but we stopped and instead marched to the Lincoln Memorial while telling stories about love, unity, needing to do better, and prayer. This is what protesting is all about. This is why Black Lives Matter. We had more people than ever today and we showed the world that we can do things differently than what they want us to do, and that we can show the upmost respect for peace and love if we come together and choose to do that. Our peaceful protest ended with time before curfew for everyone to get home. If chaos occurs on the streets tonight, it has nothing to do with us and our message of peace. This is why I protest. #icantbreathe #georgefloyd #washingtondc #dcprotest #blacklivesmatter

We're still here.

I'm not coming back to social for good, I just wanted to say... were still here....
I know what's going on and I'm focusing on thing I can to in my own backyard.
I know there have been unindentified federal officers arresting citizens and kidnapping them in unmarked vehicles, mom's and veterans are being beaten and gassed at the front lines, and Trump is pushing his authority everyday calling the protesters terrorists testing what he can get away with and what his fucking cronies will uphold, while corperations profit in the billions from our pain... I'm so ashamed of this country.

But I'm still here. Practicing what civil disobedience I can. Trying to exist. Trying to defend human values, I can't even believe I have to argue with people about....

I'll be here for 7 days before I'm allowed to deactivate IG and FB again.

Please reach out to me if you would like to go down to BLM plaza and occupy, demonstrate, talk or reclaim OUR streets...
Thank you to those who reached out and noticed my absence. I am ok but social media is a safe space for me right now.

Thank you for this incredible photo @_oyoma
He has been down there every damn day ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻✊
