1.5 weeks out it's been a fun prep time to bring it all together. I have a big corner behind me with my girlfriend @melreneeee my coach @ifbbpro.chriscasner with @jbcoachingconcepts and my stoik family @stoik.gyms along with my good friends @1clean138 @nathaniel_donald_bates @awittzzz @_phillip_adams . And of course my number one fan @dlopez70. So happy to be stepping back on stage again !

Your athlete’s placing doesn’t mark the end of your responsibility as their coach.

After months of having a clear goal and a structured routine, the show is over. Hunger, fatigue and the pressure of watching your body change can make that transition difficult.

“Enjoy yourself, then get back on plan” isn’t enough guidance.

As an athlete, I understand how much we invest in bringing our best to the stage. As a coach, I care about how my athletes are doing once the tan fades and the attention moves on.

That means having a clear direction for food, training and recovery, keeping communication open, and helping them navigate the mental side of stepping away from stage condition.

Some weight gain is part of moving forward. It shouldn’t leave an athlete feeling like they’ve failed or have to figure everything out alone.

The standard I hold myself to is simple: be present through the difficult phases, even when there’s no stage photo to celebrate.
