You don’t have to feel confident before you begin.

During my fighting career, drills, live rounds, and conditioning gave me reasons to trust myself. I still felt nervous before fights, but the preparation helped me feel ready.

Now I see students build that same confidence through consistent training. They learn, face setbacks, and discover they can try again—and carry that trust into everyday life.

A takedown isn’t finished when your opponent hits the mat—it’s finished when you’re in control.

Build it from the ground up: establish your stance, maintain balance, manage distance, and create a reaction. Then enter with strong positioning, break your opponent’s base, complete the finish, and stay on top.

Every detail matters. Every phase connects.

The submission gets the attention—but control creates the finish.

Position Before Submission is about staying connected, controlling the space, following your opponent’s movement, and knowing when the opportunity is truly there.

SLEEP IS TRAINING. 💤🥊

You can train hard, eat right, and put in the rounds—but if you’re not recovering, you’re leaving progress on the table.

For fighters, sleep is part of the work. It supports recovery, learning, focus, reaction time, and performance.

Our new article “Sleep and Performance” is now live on the Flow MMA Learning Center.
