TRAINING YOUR BACK = TRAINING AT ANGLES 🔥

There’s more than one way to use the lat pulldown effectively. Switch up your grip, angle and attachment to target your back from different positions and get more out of every rep.

Want to get more out of your training? Head to the link in our bio to get started 😮‍💨

DEADLIFTS DON’T NEED TO BE SCARY.

One of the biggest things I coach with the deadlift is a consistent set up.

1. Bar over mid foot
Start with the bar over the middle of your foot. Same position every rep.

2. Bring your shins to the bar
Don’t roll the bar towards your shins. The bar is already where you want it. Bring yourself to the bar.

3. Shoulders towards your hips
Pull your shoulders down and back towards your hips. Load tension through the arms, lats and posterior chain. Take the slack out before you pull.

4. Deep breath and brace
Big breath in. Brace and block through the trunk so you’re creating a solid base to pull from.

5. Chin tucked, chest set
Keep the chin tucked and chest set. Get yourself into the same strong starting position every time.

6. Lift
Once everything is loaded and tight, drive through the floor and lift.

7. Reload
Reset the bar. Reset your position. Run through the same process again.

A lot of people actually have a decent movement pattern once they start pulling.

The problem is they raw dog the set up 😂

One rep the bar is over mid foot. Next rep it’s forward. Feet move. Hips change. Starting position changes.

Now you’re asking your body to solve a slightly different lift every rep.

When the set up is consistent, we can actually assess what’s happening.

If pain or discomfort keeps showing up despite good technique and a repeatable set up, that gives us information. It can point us towards strength, mobility, load tolerance or an imbalance that needs work outside of the deadlift.

A deadlift is multiple muscle groups working together. If something in that chain isn’t doing its job, the body will usually find another way to get the weight up.

Set up. Load tension. Lift. Reload. Repeat. 🔥

Same approach. Every rep.

Your reminder that life keeps moving. Some days are rough, some are perfect, and some are somewhere in between.

A change in perspective can make all the difference. Whatever kind of day you’re having, we’ve got you. Keep showing up, keep moving forward and take it one day at a time. 🤝🏽

SCONE, WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED 💪🏼

We’ve teamed up with the crew at The GOAT, dropping in with a stack of ASN samples for the team to put through their paces as we bring a little bit of ASN to the Scone fitness community.

They are doing great things for training and fitness in Scone, so we’re pumped to team up and support their members with quality supplements and genuine advice.

You’ll soon start seeing a range of ASN products available at their gym, with the full range only a trip down the road at ASN Muswellbrook and all GOAT members might just find a few extra perks waiting for them in-store 🤫

📍31 Hayes Street Scone, NSW 2337

Scone, consider ASN Muswellbrook your new supplement stop 💜
