HISTORIC PROJECT COMPLETED ✅ 🎨
✨Good to meet and follow @_roadfish_ on his journey in creating this historic mural in Salt Lake City’s Japantown.
✨ This massive piece of work honors and celebrates Japanese Americans who helped to shape the cultural landscape and history of Utah 💯

This summer project experienced several delays but through it all, Cole stayed focused and determined to deliver his best work….and to dream bigger!

“It’s been a long time coming….” he said.

I’m confident many who see this in person will say, the final product was worth the wait. 💫

Introducing the artists behind the North Temple Mural Program 🎉

We’re very excited to announce the talented local artists who will be bringing new murals to life along the North Temple corridor. Each mural will celebrate the history, culture, and character of this neighborhood, transforming everyday walls into shared cultural landmarks.

Stay tuned for more updates and click the link in our bio to learn more about the project.

“In 2018, my husband and I bought a home on the westside just a few blocks from North Temple and the State Fair Grounds. And every year, this neighborhood just keeps getting better! We love the diversity of amenities you can find along North Temple, the public transit availability and most of all the culture! As an artist, it’s been so fulfilling to get the opportunity to create public art for my community and inspiring to see the growth happening here.”

“When I first moved to Salt Lake, this neighborhood is the one that held me the most. Even now, the section of the Jordan River Trail between Poplar Grove and Cottonwood Park is a place in the valley that I know most intimately. I saw the way it changed over seasons, trout jumping in the spring, bufflehead footprints I followed in the winter snow. The local mulberry tree and its generosity, folks sitting on their porches and waving to me as I commuted on my bike in the early quiet. Cottonwoods giving their fluff and dappled light to my lunchtimes. This place was my introduction to Utah, a place my life transformed. It is an honor to be able to paint here!”

Rancho Market: 140 North 900 West

“I’m drawn to North Temple because of the diversity of its neighborhoods and the many cultures, histories, and personal stories found within them. Much of my work as a mural artist has been shaped by telling stories through imagery. Past projects have allowed me to learn about different communities and represent their experiences, traditions, histories, and cultural symbolism. Those experien

We had a great time at this year's Obon Festival!

Our team spent the day talking with community members about the future of Japantown, answering questions, and sharing information about the neighborhood's future design plans.

One of the highlights was watching a new mural, by artist Cole Eisnehour, come to life. The mural, funded by the CRA, will celebrate the culture, history, and identity that make Japantown so special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello, ask questions, and share your thoughts. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful community celebration.

Muralist Cole Eisenhour is painting black-and-white portraits into a gold crack on the Multi-Ethnic Senior Highrise in Salt Lake City's Japantown — a kintsugi-inspired design for a neighborhood that's been broken and rebuilt more than once.

Nearly all of Japantown was demolished in 1966 to build the Salt Palace, part of a bid for the 1972 Winter Olympics. The bid failed. The Games went to Sapporo, Japan. Decades later, city leaders admitted the bid was never really meant to win.

Now Salt Lake City has its Olympics back — 2034 — and the ground around what's left of Japantown is being redeveloped again, this time for the Delta Center and Salt Palace expansion.

The mural is being called the first visible phase of what comes next.

Public art brings communities together ✨

We invited attendees of Salt Lake Buddhist Temple’s Obon Festival to help paint part of a new mural in Japantown. Led by artist Cole Eisenhour, the mural tells the story of Japanese American history through visual fragments connected by flowing gold elements symbolizing connection, healing, and continuity.

There are a lot more entrepreneurs and artists that helped me get here, but these are the ones that were here before Mentorship days that stuck around and helped me build this into what it is today. These are the artists that inspire me in various ways and are the reason why I have the insights that I do. I want to pass on this information to you. But as our account scales 200-400 followers per day with our new trial reels strategy, I can only help so many people. Next month, my prices for Mentorship and the Program itself will have some adjustments, but we are adding so many resources into the Program, it will certainly only accelerate growth for artists everywhere so much faster. Comment “mentorship” to interview before prices go up again.
