When my boyfriend sent me a reel with this song, we couldn't resist using it ourselves. Not only are the lyrics hilariously brilliant, the tune is super catchy and a fantastic vibe. This is a genuine song written by @thecq.bookreview's husband, and if you search for Ruthless Romance on music apps, they have a collection of bookish songs like this one!

Question: What book-related warning would someone need before dating you?

My boyfriend was warned that a library room is non-negotiable in our future house. We're still renting a small flat for now, so that dream's not possible yet... but it will be. 😉

It was Secret Santa day at work yesterday. I got some cute fluffy reindeer socks, a box of Lindor chocolates, and a pink nail varnish. It was a really nice surprise, accompanied by a buffet lunch and a glass of prosecco. 🥂 This was exactly the treat I needed, because it's finally feeling like Christmas for me.

Question: Do you and your partner share similar interests?

Despite this video showing two wildly different aesthetics, me and my boyfriend @_rohangry actually have quite a large overlap in interests. I like my fantasy books and he likes his sci-fi films, which I don't think is too different. Our love of music was also the first thing we bonded over, and we like similar artists like Taylor Swift and Take That.

Hi, I'm Chloe. Welcome to my cosy corner of the bookish internet. 👋

I can't believe it's been so long since I joined bookstagram. During my time on here, I've started and finished university, spent a year as a marketing assistant, and have just started a new job in children's publishing. I have met some fantastic friends through bookstagram, and been introduced to a world of ARCs and book cons. And I feel like I still have a long adventure ahead.

So if you have been around for a while, I am extremely grateful. And if you have only just found me, welcome, and I hope you will stick around. I'm always happy to chat if you'd like to be friends. 🥰

Question (kind of): Now I want to get to know YOU. Introduce yourself in the comments.

Last weekend I went on a bookshop tour of Bristol. Well, kinda. I went to visit a couple of friends from uni, and as we explored the city together, I couldn't help walking into every bookshop we passed. The city is full of independent businesses, which was a nice treat because I'm yet to find a good indie bookshop near where I live.

I'm trying not to spend money on books rn, but I was already on the lookout for Captain of Fates as it has been a highly anticipated release. I picked it up before I even saw it was signed. 🥰 And by coincidence, we then found a boat docked up that was free to explore.

Question: When was the last time you discovered a new indie bookshop?

A couple of weeks later, here's my YALC photo dump. It was a fantastic weekend. Shoutout to my booksta friends @kala__reads and @bethlovebooks, who I got to meet IRL. I also got to meet some amazing authors and win a couple of ARCs that sound intriguing. Then downstairs at Comic Con, I saw talks from both Natalie Dormer (from Game of Thrones) and Millie Gibson (from Doctor Who). It was a jam-packed weekend with my boyfriend, but I loved every second.

Question: What would be your priority at a book con: signings, talks, shopping, or giveaways?

I like to do a bit of everything, but I think author signings have to be a priority if there's someone I really want to meet.

How gorgeous is this bookshop window display I found in Malta? 😍 Me and my boyfriend had a fantastic time a few weeks ago, and I got plenty of bookish photos.

Question: What film or show would you love to visit the filming locations for?

We also visited several Game of Thrones filming locations while in Malta (swipe to the end). I'm also super excited we're going to see Natalie Dormer (Margaery) do a talk next weekend!

Did you know that Rule the World by Take That is one of the top selling soundtrack songs of all time? It was written for the film adaption of Stardust.

Stardust feels like a special book to me this year. Not only did I study it as part of a university fantasy module, I also saw Rule the World performed live THREE TIMES, including twice when I was in Malta a couple of weeks ago.

Question: Have you ever seen a shooting star?

I've seen a few, but nothing compares to when I was in Turkiye a few years ago. I've never seen such a distinctive meteor. I swear there was a burning ball of fire shooting across the sky. It was such a special blink-and-you-miss-it moment.

When me and my boyfriend took a trip to London to see Taylor Swift on the Eras tour, we went into Waterstones Piccadilly. This is the largest bookshop in Europe and they were ready for an influx of Taylor Swift fans, as you can see from some of their displays.

Question: Which celebrity would you love to see inspire a book display?

This was a cute reading date me and my boyfriend had this week. It's the 2nd time we've done this recently; gone out into nature and sat to read together. And btw, it's my copy of Throne of Glass he's reading. 😂

Question: What's the most books you've read at once?

I don't think I've read more than 3 at once. However, when I'm reading multiple books I like a clear distinction between what I'm reading and why. Like rn, I'm reading an eARC of Sword of Shadow and Star by Allie Brennan, and a paperback of the final book in the Twin Crowns series.

I discovered a fantastic new Olympic sport today. Everyone looking for some excitement tomorrow should watch the kayak cross finals. It's a race between 4 kayaks, but it's not your average race; it's a full-on BATTLE on the water.

Question: How do you feel about love letters?

I think they're extremely romantic. On our 2nd date my boyfriend surprised me with a gift, and inside that gift was a note about how he thought we could be something special. I was inspired to leave a note for him to find later that week. Although we don't exchange regular love letters, it was a very cute start to our relationship.
