I could make my first show post about results, myself, or how this was hard, but genuinely I want to dedicate the first batch of pics to the people who helped me through this entire prep and who consistently believed in me and loved me throughout the entire process.

I had a LOT of things happen during this prep from my car going out, my grandfather passing away days later, to getting into an accident with my new car two months after owning it, working at a company that drained my life on top of prep, and the entire time my friends never gave up on me and believed I could do better than I ever even imagined.

I was so tired, beat up, constantly just exhausted and every single time I was close to giving up, they would not let me, so from the bottom of my heart, I love you guys and I couldn't have asked for a better group of friends in my life :) <3

Special thanks to @kaltpeter5 and @anthony_dilo11 for being there for me and genuinely holding me together by the seams when I was truly at my lowest, I love you two more than anything in the world <3

January 2nd I was rushed to the hospital after passing out during squats. A few days later I underwent heart surgery- which had a 90% success rate, but I got to be part of the unlucky 10%. I was told I would never squat again. But I had to maintain my aura and chills, so I’m lowkey the 49th best 75kg collegiate female powerlifter in the nation (I guess bro).

This was not anywheres close to the performance I wanted, and I don’t think I’ll ever not be frustrated with myself. For giving up so much time and energy every day so I could “do something at cnats” and having it fizzle out into barely lifting more than I did at my first meet five months ago, it truly sucks. And it sucks that I let it get to me so much to the point where I was having panic attacks every day for weeks about this. Obviously there was a lot going into it circumstance-wise too.

I frequently debated about even coming down to NOLA, but in the end I’m glad I went because I learned a lot. I learned a lot about myself and how I do not want to put so much self worth into how much I can lift off the ground, how I’m passionate about this but not to the level of devoting as much time and energy into this sport as I once did or could do. I learned that I have an awesome support system and I genuinely would have probably crashed out and quit after squat if it wasn’t for my handlers (thank you @jeff_morgan_52 and @masterz.lifting). I’m incredibly grateful for my coach @la.lifting in bearing with me through the chaos and for encouraging me even when everything seemed hopeless. I learned that national judging and the equipment used at a national level meet is far different than the calm luh RIT meet I qualified with. I also learned that it’s a HORRIBLE idea to have 3 banana nut muffins before competing. And that “walking helps increase digestion” (thank you Snell)

I’m not one for writing long and semi-serious insta captions but for something that was this important to me, it deserved a yap sesh. and that’s on periodt 🫰
