We talk to them about their new short film ‘Erasure’, a movement piece fusing contemporary dance with South Indian Kuthu to explore erasure, trauma and resistance without a single word of dialogue. Fully self funded, the film launches its crowdfunding campaign on 11th July, and we’re here for it.

HashR (@hashirhussain.4) is a London-based DJ and curator, originally from Delhi and Bangalore; cities that deeply shape his sound. Through radio, live sets, and his collective Galaata, he builds spaces that centre South Asian music and community.

He describes his sound as cultural bass: global, emotional, rooted in memory. It’s the kind of bass you don’t always hear, but feel moving through your body, your hair, your entire being.
