FUNDRAISER & EXHIBITION 📣•WE’RE HERE TO STAY•📣 ❌•👇•❌•👇•❌•👇•❌•👇•❌ 👇INFO ABOUT THE PROJECT👇 @heretostay2620 @sabrinamero 👉Photo-based Re-Activism Project by Sabrina Merolla London-based photojournalist & participatory mixed-media artist. 📆24 October 2026 ⏰15-22 🥘VEGAN APERITIVO 🍹SOLI COCKTAIL 🎽🪀👉 LIVE SCREENPRINTING (bring your T-shirt) 💣🎛👉MUSIC SELECTION by ELIZA @elizalilaschwarze 👉🏽 Interactive Community Collage: Bring a picture, a texture or an artefact to glue onto the 25/7/2026 memorial collage & re-activate your relationship with real humans!  🙌WE’RE HERE TO STAY was born as a strong response to the Berlin Pride attack, on July 25th. While Sabrina—along with 150,000 others—was participating in London’s largest Trans Pride to say NO to Britain's new transphobic laws, the news about Berlin’s appalling events left her speechless. She started a journey through Germany, Italy and Britain - where trans-homo phobia is on the rise - to meet people of any orientation, taking portraits of them wearing a white T-shirt saying WE'RE HERE TO STAY, and allowing them to decorate the back of the T-shirt as a canvas. This process is leading to conversations, connections and a deep sense of commonality. It is exclusively being advertised through personal contacts, and aims to increase both LGBTIQ+ & ALLIES’ visibility, despite the billionaire-owned mainstream media narrative. The fundraiser will allow Sabrina to self-fund the project, keep portraying as many people as possible, and run free workshops. 👉🏿👉🏽👉DO YOU WANT TO TAKE PART in this process and have your portrait taken?  📣📣📣SABRINA WILL BE IN BERLIN on 21-25th October. Berlin, Germany, 4th September 2026: Aïcha, she/her, 33, a cultural education worker from Moabit, has chosen to write the caption on her own: Still here to mourn and stand in solidarity with all victims here and elsewhere. Here to share grief and hope with all survivors; here to keep showing up for those who can’t. On the back of the t-shirt, I drew a flower, the eryngium [German: Edeldistel], that represents resilience and defiance. It grows in harsh conditions. It means that we will always be here, in any environment, standing up for the beauty that only solidarity can bring. The flower is framed by two words: “Trauer”, grief, and “Hoffnung”, hope, holding at the same time the complex emotions we feel during events like these and after a loss. Yes, we will carry hope to keep us going, and we will remain hopeful when we see people standing with us during protests. But grief also needs space and time. My thoughts are with all those who lost someone and still need to carry on, with all survivors who saw part of themselves die, and also with the families who need to mourn loved ones who chose violence instead of solidarity. My thoughts are with the social workers who continue to try and who believe that people can change. As a survivor of another terrorist attack, I feel deeply connected to everyone who has to live through something like this. The attacker was my age at the time, and this was what he chose. To all those who carry such thoughts, I ask: What for? There is always a way out, a way to have a good life, to find meaning in the here and now. This is the hope you need to find in yourself. 👉🏽Exbt/Fundraising/aperitif/dinner/screenprinting/collage event @vetomat on 24th October! 👉🏽👉🏻👉🏿WE’RE HERE TO STAY is a project born in the aftermath of #Berlin #Pride 2026’s attack. It is meant for #LGBTIQA+ & #allies’ visibility, resilience and healing through connections and art. I will be in #Berlin on 21-25th October. Do you want to join? DM @heretostay2620!

Berlin, Germany, 6th September 2026: Lau, 49, gender fluid, hold their red keffiyeh looking straight into the camera. They have used the “We’Re Here to Stay” project to unequivocally express their view on queerness, through words, fashion, make-up, and DIY. Queerness is more than a way of being in socio-cultural terms: “Queer liberation is inclusive, de-colonial and trans-feminist.” To them, it is obvious that: “No one is free, until we are all free”. Lau and I are old friends. Without their support this project would have never had the chance to get started in Berlin - the very place where these last years’ political and institutional violence against the LGBTIQA+ community suddenly turned into a big, tangible, violent attack on Berlin Pride, on 25th July 2026. ——————————— WE’RE HERE TO STAY is a project born in the aftermath of #Berlin #Pride 2026’s attack for LGBTIQA+ people & allies’ visibility, resilience and healing through connections and art. Now in #Germany #Italy and the #UK. Do you want to join? DM @heretostay2620!
