When I think about the way small business can support small business I know it’s a stretch but I also know there’s DEEP empathy. We are so lucky to be a magazine that’s supported by small businesses as our advertisers.

@mountsunny founder @_she is my healer. For two years I saw her weekly, and I got the energy and balance back. Now based in Phoenix, I love to shop @big______sun, their store for those who can’t visit their acupuncture wellness studio. My go-to products are the silver Gia sha, hair growth oil, and the facial cups (hit those 11s in the mornings lol).

Use code: ITSOKAYTOTRY for 20% off your first order!

We are taking ads for Issue 005 now! Email me if you want in, we start at $350 a page for small businesses yes you read that right. Sarah@bywayof.us ⭐️💫❤️

@heycoolmoms is my go-to platform to read about cool moms who want to talk about the real stuff. Hard, funny, sexy, unsexy, ai, kimchi (hello my recent piece), dementia, and more. Founded by friend and Chief Cool Mom @eliserpeterson finds a way to make empathy the coolest quality of all. Follow and read along.

@cnmfoundation offers visitors, donors, and supporters a visit to the tide pools, education for everyone, green and seasoned, and your membership gets you access so some of their coolest, nature filled and nature celebrating events like Cabrillo Under the Stars, whale watching, and more. If you find yourself in SoCal/San Diego, make a trip and become a member today ❤️

@danielle.levanas is the kind of therapist who can empathize and relate on a deep level filled with love. We’ve been lucky enough to have her writing in our magazine and have her as a host for grief workshop that really should just be called deep love workshops. If you’re looking for someone who can lend a supportive listening ear rooted from empathy and experience, give her a ring.

Im not exaggerating when I say @dr.dangpt saved my life. My back was in so much pain after giving birth (even years and years in), but with time and tremendous care, I’ve grown in strength and endurance. And not just physically but mentally too. When you’re pain free, you can actually make real moves. Ty Tony and team!!

Postpartum care is the root of everything we do at @beheldwellness 🌀 The First Forty Days is a practice that I feel I greatly benefited from with my firstborn, Ansel.

In recent years, I’ve noticed it becoming a more popular approach to postpartum healing, so I’m excited to dive deep into what it actually is, traditional Chinese medicine recipes, and the 5-5-5 rule with Shelby Ramirez, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Certified Herbologist, and Founder of @mountsunny.

When we started the magazine It’s Okay to Try, I did some experimenting of my own. Could we print the first few issues with the support of friends and small business we love buying our ad space? Could we promote business we ACTUALLY love and go to whose services we use and need and promote (whether they said yes to advertising or not). And we did, because of their generosity and support, we were able to print our second issue.

@welcomephysicaltherapy is my favorite pelvic floor therapist. I see Dr. @raemcmoya and every time I’ve meet with her it’s an EDUCATION, on my body, on birthing, on perimenopause.

@remember_thisfeeling is my favorite massage therapist. To be under her care is not just to get a massage but to release. She is so intuitive in her touch and her listening ear is unlike many others. She does house calls also!

@hairdaaays is the stylist of my life and now my mom’s and my friend’s and many more clients she had way before I found her (I remember @jeannettehlee posting about @meromerosalon and found her there). Whether it’s a 90s long layer or a perfect bixie or the shortest bb bangs, she’s got you.

@mountsunny saved my life. Dr. @_she healed me to the point I got pregnant I think lol I was feeling so good after two years of seeing her. Based in Phoenix, the moment you step in you’re transported. But for those who can’t visit there, shop online: my favs are the tinctures (flow & belly esp) and the facial cups!

@danielle.levanas.therapy is a wealth of knowledge, with a keen ear, a huge heart, who possess a deep capacity to talk about grief. I’ve never met someone who has the analogies, the words, the lived experience to help guide anyone navigating the hard of it all.

@dr.dangpt is my second home. After injuring my back multiple times, I have to share I had a somatic release during one of my sessions. Tears and all. I’m not working on pain management anymore, I’m getting stronger and wow does it feel revelatory.

If you’re interested in advertising (and letting me gush about you to our community) we are accepting ad space for Issue 003 now, email me sarah@bywayof.us

Health is wealth 🤍
What a gift it is to be able to treat myself to bodywork at @mountsunny with @_she. These treatments are a highlight for me every month and I’m so grateful for the years of this amazing service.

Happy Mother’s Day to Etta’s mom- the love of my life. Sometimes I think back to the day you walked into the cafeteria on the first day of 6th grade and then I look around and see how everything I’d day dreamed about from that day forward came true. Etta and I are the luckiest ones around to live this life with you!!! Hope you feel the love a little extra today ♥️
