J P s K - Crystalline Complex (Small Worm, C40, C60, C90)
.
almost two years worth of on-and-off collaboration between JS and me just saw the light of day on Small Worm, your go-to label for well curated sonic oddites ! started as with 'vapor-wall' in mind (back when vaporwave was a thing), the project moved in various manners of crackling and synthy textures over a massive triple tape set. each copy is handmade, with JS's drawings on hand-painted lilac paper. endless thanks to Small Worm !
.
all profits from this release went to diversity and social justice charities. following this great initiative, i add some french organisations to JS's list of charities: La Cimade (defending displaced populations), ATTAC (anticapitalist organisation providing useful research) and Planning Familial (educating and helping youth on sexuality and gender-related issues)

the MISS ME ERODE mini-collection is now LIVE on maliknashadsharpe.com!

MISS ME ERODE is the first mini-collection designed and made by Sam Ray furthering Marikiscrycrycry's choreographic project of disseminating visual and dramaturgical melancholia without fatalism, a cruel yet optimistic take on our dark realities-- Using aesthetics to employ a melancholy that speaks, that moves, that mourns, that is worn, working with an expansive view of choreography that supposes it can be worn and witnessed. Danced. That it can be autonomous, edited, repurposed, a subversive dance that we put on, that we can do together. MISS ME ERODE sees marikiscrycrycry and Sam Ray collaborate on a collection of pieces ranging from unique hand-made garments, to ready-to-wear T-Shirts, creating together a unique vision for an otherwise apocalyptic moment of discord. The graphics showcases marikiscrycrycry, the body in repose, unbothered and disaffected, and fully ready to defend our right to exist outside of categorisation, to go against increasing authoritarianism and catastrophe. Each garment is fitted with excerpts of an experimental text ‘Good Things Come to Those With a Bad Attitude,’ written for the Capilano Review, to be published in early 2021.
