“Close The Distance” live play-through | Today @stevenkopacz had to undergo yet another surgery as he battles stage 4 stomach cancer for a second time. It’s all I could think about today and with that I thought about this song we wrote together. A song we wrote about brotherhood, hope, and what can be achieved when people come together. I played this song today till my fingers were raw…because it means something entirely different to me now.

I don’t know what I’d do without you, but I do know it would be a whole hell of a lot less fun. Thank you for being my codependent therapist, wife, sister, emergency contact, voice of reason and occasional accomplice to the exact behavior you advised me against. You turn lemons into lemonade with a splash of mezcal, all while face down ahh up on the dance floor. I’m so freaking proud of you and love you more than I ever thought you’d let me. Happy birthday to the only person who can turn absolutely nothing into a core memory and even the hardest seasons into something beautiful. There is no version of my life that makes sense without you in it. I hope this year gives back to you even half of the love, joy and light you give to everyone else, and esp me. You deserve the world 🤍. Love you forever, unfortunately for youuuuuu!!!! 😂
