This past Saturday we had the honor of co-sponsoring @nabpt_fl ‘s Happy Hour Social at @brandonsbistro , following this year’s National Student Conclave held at Nova Southeastern University. Together, alongside @teamrehabilitation , we contributed towards scholarship awards for PT & PTA student raffle winners in attendance of this RRRemarkable event (full pun intended)!

For those who don’t know, The National Association of Black Physical Therapists, Inc. (NABPT) is a nonprofit organization with the primary focus of increasing opportunities for the African Diaspora in physical therapy. NABPT’s mission is to provide opportunities for increased visibility, networking, community service, advocacy, career development, and mentorship for Black Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants. According to research done by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2021, it was found that African Americans only made up 4.22% of Physical Therapists within the profession. More recent research conducted by other organizations show closer to 5% which is a low number nonetheless, thereby reflecting the importance of organizations like NABPT that aim to increase representation!
