Day 2 (part 1) of the trek

We started at 8.40am from our campsite. We were going to be ascending almost 750m today. We knew it was a tough day ahead.

The trek started with an ascend and it was all very steep ascending for 90% of the trek this day. I won’t lie, it was NOT EASY. We took breaks, and those breaks were with the whole group stopping together to grab onto some protein bars, sugar, water, nuts and whatever munchies we had with us.

For someone who’s wanting to go on a trek, it’s best to wear something cool - half sleeves cotton T-shirt or a dry fit. @decathlonsportsindia has it all !
It gets pretty hot while you’re walking because of the body heat.
However when you reach the campsite it does get VERY chilly where you need your heat techs/ down jackets, woollen cap, gloves etc.
(All of the above again depends on where you are headed for you trek, but it’s best to understand and listen to your trek guides/leaders!)

After your first trek you would know a lot about yourself. You kind of explore yourself and what you need for each situation. I personally hoarded on some woollens, clothes, food and toiletries which all came back as it is. Now I do know a little better but each experience is different and I plan to keep learning and absorbing as I go on with these.
It’s a new found love, a love I’m not letting go just yet.

If you are interested in one of the treks and are worried about safety and crowd or anything else, trust me when I say this- JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES & contact @juniper.outdoor
They are really good
Will do a proper post on them too.

Coming back to trek 2, it was a long long day and so there are going to be 2 parts to this video. The first is here. Second will be up soon too!
We trekked for about 4 hours (I would like to repeat, all up hill) and reached this beautiful site where we took a break for about an hour. It was BEAUTIFUL. (Basically everything, everyplace, each area and anywhere you just stopped and looked up was beautiful) So you might see ALOT of this word being repeated because it was MESMERISING!!

Stay tuned!

Day 1 of the trek!!
We landed at the airport around 10am on 3rd June, Friday.
From here we split into cabs to go to a homestay for lunch. The distance from the airport to this homestay was about 2 hours. Srinagar to Pahalgam.
On our way to the homestay we stopped for some fresh apple juice. If you are heading to Kashmir anytime soon I would definitely recommend you to stop by on your way to Pahalgam at one of the fresh apple juice vendors farm and have their juice.
Our cabby Yaseer was very welcoming and sweet. And on top of that, he had a really good music playlist. We were all saving phone batteries as we weren’t going to get any electrical point till Monday. Though we were told we would not get network as well but the phone would be used to capture all these memorable moments that I’m now able to share with you❤️

We reached Baisaran after trekking for about 1.30 hours at about 5.45pm.
The camp site was breathtaking. It was BEAUTIFUL!
We had some tea, coffee and snacks. Got to know each other a little better than the initial formal introductions that we’d had.
Time flew by and we didn’t even realise when it was time for dinner. We had a really cute dining tent where we all sat together for all our meals and laughed and had the best conversations! It was the place where all walls were down and everyone was just there to have fun and no judgements.
The white lights from this tent were removed to put the fairy lights which two of the boys had actually got for their personal tents. Thank you guys!! Because of you our dining tent became cosier and cuter. It gave out more warmth.
Oh from warmth I remember this tent was always so nice and warm. It was because it was mostly closed from all sides with a very small opening just for going in and out. (And also with 13 of us in there)

After dinner we all said our goodnight at around 9.30pm and were off to sleep.

The plan was to be up the next day by 6.30am and leave for the trek by 8am.

Stay tuned !
