The first time a reshoot has gone well for me. I found out after my first run that I shot through the wall on the right, getting 2 mikes on that target. Then the bobber ended up not being reset. The second run went much better 😅

2026 USA IPSC Nationals is a wrap. By far the best and highest quality nationals I’ve been to and I would expect nothing less from @greater_pittsburgh_gun_club
•
Also my best performance, finishing 17th in open at 90%.
•
My @apolloarms Open gun ran great as always with zero issues the entire match. I abuse my 2011s more than most and this gun just runs.

Counter-sUAS is not a single weapon, system, or battle drill.

“Successful C-sUAS operations must include both Passive and Active measures, employed as part of a layered defense strategy against sUAS threats.”

Your defense begins before a drone is detected. Units must identify critical assets, establish early warning, employ air guards, manage signatures, disperse personnel and equipment, improve cover, rehearse reporting procedures, and clearly establish engagement authorities.

This second post continues into the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures section of the new JIATF-401 guide—from observer positioning and small-arms defense to survivability, deception, electromagnetic discipline, hardening, and unit SOPs.

No single measure provides adequate protection. The guide directs units to:

“Employ multiple capabilities to provide redundancy, mutual support, and complementary capabilities in depth.”

These actions must be incorporated into planning, training, and rehearsals before the threat appears overhead. Small-arms engagement and other defeat measures remain subject to established ROE, weapons-control status, delegated authorities, and unit SOPs.

Save this for your next planning session or field exercise. What additional TTPs have you found effective to train to?

Our app - Point of Action was built around the same purpose: giving small-unit leaders practical material they can learn, rehearse, and teach. Download it free through the link in my bio. If it has provided value, an App Store review genuinely helps others find it.

It's really just that simple!

Go for a walk in the woods with your bois in full kit.

Bingo. Loneliness cured.

Signed up for Western PA last minute on a whim. Started the match off a little rough but we crawled back up there. Ended up taking the Open win, 1st place Open M class, and 4th overall.

Immediate action drills and battle drills are both rehearsed responses designed to generate tempo, but they serve slightly different purposes.

Immediate action drills allow Marines to react to contact without waiting for orders. They initiate action and buy the leader time and space to make a decision.

Battle drills are rehearsed procedures for common tactical tasks. They execute a decision made by the leader — whether that decision is made in the moment or established beforehand in the order.

IA Drills: Freeze. Immediate assault. Break contact. Near ambush. Far ambush. Etc…

Battle Drills: Rocket drills. Frag drills. M320 HE drills. Phase-line drills. Strong-point reduction. Etc…

Different drills, different purposes, same requirement: rehearse them until we can’t get them wrong.

Proper execution of these fundamentals enables rapid transition and is one of the most effective methods of regaining momentum.

This is the overview. I’ll break down some of these individual drills in follow-on posts.

If you want more tactical training like this, Point of Action is free on the App Store and built around learning the fundamentals, practicing them, and making decisions under pressure.

And if you’ve already downloaded it and gotten some value from it, I’d appreciate an App Store review. It helps more than you’d probably think and helps other Marines find the app.

Military leaders focus will always be on “procurement” as an easy button, but training and TTP development will be what saves your team in the DroneWar. 💀✈️🎮
When you work with AEG, you aren’t hiring a hobby team… Our team was tactical SMEs in our respective careerfields, and continue to be as most of us are still in. 🇺🇸 Channeling all that to provide tactically relevant training and integration. ⚡️⚔️ Train Hard homies…
