Inspired by watching her mother cook, Rafia found her passion in the kitchen; Konadu keeps cooking for the joy her food brings to people, while Comfort has sold plantain since 2009, using the business to provide for her children.

For 52 weeks, a small group of young Africans chose to believe in a different future. A future where Africa builds. Where our youth do not have to leave to thrive. Where self reliance is not a slogan, but a living.

We met after work. We planned on weekends. We hosted the NEXT AFRICA SERIES. We built community across Ghana, Nigeria, Mali, Liberia, Benin, Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Africa and beyond. One conversation at a time.

We did not have all the funding. We did not have all the answers. But we had conviction.

Gideon is a Ghanaian journalist, writer, media personality, and creative storyteller whose work spans journalism, broadcasting, digital media, literature, and content innovation. He currently serves as Social Content & Innovation Lead at Pulse Ghana and was selected as a CNN Academy Fellow in 2025.

A passionate advocate for meaningful storytelling, Gideon uses media and creativity to amplify conversations around social justice, equality, youth development, and issues shaping African society. He is also the author of Deliver Me, Mother, his debut thriller published in 2025, and co-manages Legon Live, a campus-based media platform dedicated to student stories and experiences.

Through his diverse creative projects and commitment to innovation, Gideon demonstrates how storytelling can connect communities, inspire ideas, and drive meaningful conversations.
