Few days back, I was invited to perform spoken words at the FLUX Exhibition by @creathlabs
When I got to the @arkhive.ng space, I felt welcomed by the amazing artworks displayed and the ambient feeling of the moment❤ Truly, an art exhibition like this is one of the best places to unwind ☺
The theme, Flux, is a phenomenon that affects us as humans and through different artworks and performances, we were inspired and educated in our response to recurring changes.
An excerpt from my piece said:

"Unfortunately, time is a sister to Flux
And we cannot presume her stumbling blocks
The change she'll bring; whether good or bad
We cannot tell what prompts it had
It could be more for you; less for another
Like the machine era to the manual labourer
The electric beats to the classical singer
And the rush of city to the countryside farmer"

So, the big question is "What does it feel like to redefine identity in a period of rapid, continuous change?" 🤔
The exhibition still runs till October 17th. Go and be inspired🪄

Drink and Burn by @_treasure_artchi made me think about the kind of love that goes beyond loving someone only when everything is easy.

Two people can be completely different — different personalities, different ways of thinking, different habits and even different ways of expressing love and still choose to be together. I think that is where understanding comes in.

Loving someone is not always about finding a person who is exactly like you. Sometimes, it is about learning the person you love, understanding their weaknesses, their difficult sides and accepting that nobody is perfect.

We all have flaws, and being with someone means learning when to compromise, when to give space, when to correct and when to simply understand that this person is different from you.

Looking at the two figures in this work, I see two different worlds still finding a way to connect. Their colours are different, but they come together beautifully. And for me, that says a lot about love.

Maybe real love is not about changing someone into the person we want them to be, but learning how to grow together while accepting each other's imperfections.

The title Drink and Burn also makes me think about the two sides of love. It can feel comforting, something you want more of, but it can also burn. Love can bring warmth, but it can hurt too.

Still, when two people are willing to understand each other, accept their flaws and keep learning how to love each other better, those differences don't always have to separate them.

Sometimes, they become part of what makes the relationship worth holding onto.

Beautiful work from @_treasure_artchi 🤍

If prayers had a visual language what would it look like?
If classical hymns had a visual voice with a contemporary spin to it how would it look?

Here I was after beholding a muse as reference @treasure.artchi and I was thinking what can I do with what I have received? What do I want to say? It took a while until one day someone pointed out that aside from my constant theme of Hope, all my works depict a beauty of Grace and then it hit me!

The hymn Amazing Grace kept singing in my head and fusing those inspiration and my virtual language a sort of contemporary revamp was made.... Amazing Grace that burns so brightly! A call to ponder on how God looks upon wretched humanity and declared His Love transformed the trash and worthless to the beautiful and divine. How precious really is the Blood shed in purchasing humanity from darkness.

Recently, exploring the theme of “love” has taught me so much about myself and those around me. It’s been a heartwarming experience and I’m excited to share this new piece with y’all.

This piece celebrates the beauty of loving yourself. It highlights the idea that genuine love for others starts from within, you can only share the love that you have first given to yourself.

Forgiveness is an act of self-love.

We often think letting go is for the one who hurt us, but it is actually the key to our own prison. When we harbor grudges, we archive every detail of our pain, giving it the power to wound us over and over.
This piece suggests that what we carry inside inevitably shapes how we relate to others and the energy we put into the world.
Through this piece, I invite you to release those details, embrace freedom, and remember that to truly love is to truly let go.

Moments like these last forever.😇😁 Beautiful time of laughter, explaining, meeting new people at this year's @plus234art

It might not have been a sold-out show for me, but honestly, I am forever grateful for the conversation I had with everyone at the fair.

How people connected with the pieces, how people laught, shared their opinions, and kept on stating that my pieces made them feel something.

It was a beautiful 4 days for me, I tried to take capture the moment, and thanks to my newfound friend and to the amazing little community that felt the need to connect further.

Thanks to @taslimah.woli for those wonderful black and white moments she captured.
