After a wholesome Saturday afternoon of meeting friends and discovering new local releases at Label Fair, we headed downstairs for musical discoveries. Kevin Richard Martin @bugmanldn, together with @c.h.a.r.l.i.e.h.o.p.e, cast a magical spell with glacial, tectonic sound that shook one to the core, and a hypnotic fusion of lasers and strobes that brought us all into the state of trance. @isama__zing and @djgapdjgap brought attention to the sounds that surround us throughout the festival: the microscopic clicks and sounds of strobes, lights and smoke. They put them to the front, allowing for a solo and turning the hierarchy upside down.

@kevinpeterhe and @flt.n3sss combined the mesmerizing visuals Kevin Peter He was gliding through with his custom camera and the moments of physical, vigorous interaction from FITNESSS. @kosunes ś masterclass in dropping IDM-adjacent, breaks-heavy bangers went successfully, as our still-aching necks can confirm, while @_urok_ accompanied it with dynamic 3D visuals, uncovering layer by layer. The next show was something very special: @misszorajones returned to Lunchmeat a very different person, shining with confidence, with a beautiful solo album on the horizon, full of honest, raw and beautiful songs. Touched to our core and on the brink of tears, we felt the sadness and the joy, dancing it all out.

@voronhil & @kuthijin then played with the identities of beings, jumped all over the club stage, and blasted their tight, colourful production and rap, playing with puppet theatre and expectations. Safety Trance @cardopusher then played a high-energy live set that kept the promise of seeing you all dancing. And dancing all together. @bitterbabe_ & @lechugazafiro played the closing set of the night, keeping everyone locked in on the dance floor until the last track.

Friday’s Symposium kicked off with two panels hosted together with @resident_advisor - one exploring the synth culture of Eastern Europe and another focusing on clubs as civic institution. First act of the night was the captivating, unexpected multi sensory premiere of nan @nan.cifra’s new music, an alter ego of Natalie Plevakova, put together with Honza Matysek, Jitka Sara Pániková and Magdalena Rybanská.

We then moved to concert hall for a hypnotic session by @_kamaru_, @nickverstand and Mareike Bode, commissioned in collaboration with @rewirefestival and @barbicancentre, that captivated the audience in a meditative trip. @buenatardemx & @ztaa.___ introduced another commission of the night - with deconstructed visuals of buildings rising up and falling apart and beats that cut through the core, vibrating the whole body. @miriama.kardosova continued with a performance that blended the borders of fiction and reality, with @parzifooooooool taking the stage right after for a deep, improvisational, anti-pop adventure that seemed to erase the feeling of time.

@b4mba and @mooquidi of @nexus_daband & @akyute_ played unreleased tracks that were nothing but pure fire, with multiple mosh pits taking place. @deliabeat & @bianjie.systems then brought the live part of the program with unstoppable energy and the sweet sound of 303s, with the display jungle of Bianjie Soundsystem making interfaces the main character of the show. With sets full of known treasures and unknown bangers by @umru and @nunguja we jumped and danced till the early morning.

On Saturday we start with a certified powerhouse act: @bugmanldn (The Bug aka Kevin Richard Martin) presents his newest album Sub Zero — a glacial, slow-motion excavation of drug-tech, dub and dreamy noise. With @c.h.a.r.l.i.e.h.o.p.e , he conjures a disorienting, heavy audiovisual storm born from conversations about weather systems and haunted soundscapes, using Hope’s custom-built 360° laser system. Then, childhood friends and talented producers @isama__zing and @djgapdjgap present a world premiere that positions the lights, strobes and smoke machine — into the spotlight, processing their sounds and fusing them with their signature sound design. @kevinpeterhe takes the lead, guiding us through a cinematic and visceral Passage, a cinematic, visceral journey through the day-night cycle of a cybernetic landscape. Using a custom sculptural camera, with live music by @flt.n3sss , we explore shifting artificial biomes — fragile serenity, club pressure, abrasive rupture. Careful, the Galicians @kosunes & @_urok_ sweep us off our feet : Kosu Nes’ vigorous IDM and breaks with 3D kicks and punchy sound design meet Urok’s reactive visuals. See You Dancin’ so hard. Then comes the much-awaited return: @misszorajones , moving between tenderness and force, shaped by pain, endurance and transformation, brings a teaser of her upcoming album. We’re sat. 🪑 Clam label’s Italian horsemen @voronhil and @kuthijin are full of surprises, but what’s guaranteed is jumpy bass, impossible rhythms and tight rap lines — psychedelic, funny, and unpredictable. With Safety Trance (@cardopusher) we take a dark yet euphoric dip into the club, flowing through industrial hard techno, dembow, goth and, of course, gentle trance — before @bitterbabe_ and @lechugazafiro close out the night with an extended b2b set, an extensive Latin club selection, high percussive energy and colorful sound design.

Andrés Satué has played and released under Lendrone, Esquelas, and Huma: he’s arriving at Lunchmeat under his more recent, IDM-forward, dancefloor-centered moniker of @kosunes . Sweeping, almost 3D kicks twirl with punchy sound design. Under his many monikers, he released on Raster (No Frontiers compilation), Opal Tapes, Bestiarie, ENSMBLE, Matapadre, and very recently Abundance, and played at festivals like WOS, MIRA and MUTEK. At Lunchmeat, he’ll play together with a visual artist and long-time collaborator, @_urok_ , a rendition of his most recent material, presenting their real-time reactive audiovisual system where image and sound evolve in parallel, without illustrative relationships or established hierarchies.
