Under the spell🇭🇷

Second summer in a row I’ve been lucky to visit Croatia and fall in love with it all over again. This time we stayed on Hvar island in Stari Grad town. It was a short trip but so much beauty packed into just a few days. It was definitely hard to leave but can’t wait to be back already 🤍

Presented with banana leaves! Vegan Sisig made by @shhmadventures using the #astigvegan recipe. Served with rice topped with toasted garlic. Yum! To try it too: astigvegan.com/vegan-sisig-recipe. The key is to cook in high heat 🔥 Kain na, let’s eat! #veganfilipino #kaivegan #fellowastigvegan

🌱🇵🇭 Been dreaming of being able to host my own vegan kamayan / boodle fight for the longest time! Decided to add my second Filipino dish to my repertoire: Vegan Sisig by @astigvegan . Great balance of flavours 😍 Will try to fry the tofu on a higher heat next time for better crispness. Washed down with a nice cold beer 😍🍻 (Also yes, the rice is quite dry... my partner tried his best 😂) #veganfilipino #plantbasedpinay #vegan #vegansisig #eatyogreens #kamayan #boodlefight #sisig #crispyonion #toyo

#vegan Kaldereta stew made by @shhmadventures using the #astigvegan recipe, with her own tweaks. I super love that she also added background info about the dish, which gives more context to those who may not be familiar with Kaldereta (I highly recommend to read her description below). But for the recipe: astigvegan.com/vegan-kaldereta. It’s a super hearty stew with a slight kick (or a lot if you love 🌶). Best served with rice or preferred starch. Sarap! #fellowastigvegan #kaivegan #filipinovegan #veganfilipino •
🇵🇭 Caldereta (kaldereta): Traditionally a goat stew, slowly thickened with liver paste and infused with herbs and vegetables in a cauldron (or “caldera” in Spanish - hence the name). It was brought to the Philippines during their colonization, and is similar to meat stews found along the Iberian Peninsula.

I loved this dish as a kid and finally got the courage to make a version of @astigvegan ‘s recipe. I used @eat_oumph strips and soy sausages in lieu of meat. Soooo tasty and nourishing, especially during my first Swedish winter away from home. (Yes, I know my plating game needs work. I’m more of a cook&smash kinda gal 😂) #caldereta #filipinovegan #makeitvegan #plantbased #homemade #astigvegan #kainnatayo

As @shhmadventures so wisely said, “Can we just take a moment to appreciate the life-saving staple that is Pesto?” 💚
