POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Vancouver International Festival has 2 more days this weekend. Love catching unique and often times independent films that aren’t typically shown in bigger theatres that have important and moving tales to tell.

Went to VIFF recently to watch various films, including American Doctor. It shares the firsthand accounts of doctors caring for ongoing casualties in Gaza, especially children who are being targeted. They do their best with limited and medical supplies restricted from entering by Israel. International press are not allowed in Gaza so these testimonies are critical. There are multitudes of international doctors who have served in Gaza with similar stories over the years of caring and advocating for the people of Palestine, including healthcare, humanitarian workers and journalists who have been targeted and k!lled.

Another critically acclaimed documentary, NAZA has its first screening tonight at VIFF. Additional showings have been added this coming week. It provides intimate accounts by Israeli intelligence personnel about the automated warfare systems being used to k!ll people and destroy infrastructure.

Another film by the exact same name and format has been produced to confuse audiences and try and refute the claims of the documentary. Be cautious of which one you look up.

There are many other types of films being showcased at VIFF, all worth watching. These particular types of films and discourses, however, need extra attention now more than ever. Thank you to @viff for giving many of them a platform.

Appreciate friends who are also shining a light, making space for difficult conversations and creating action.

Attended the People of African Descent in BC – Leadership Summit. It was organized by the AACCCS ISSAMBA Centre, a Black-led organization advancing cultural awareness, community connection, and advocacy across BC.

From community panels and think tank sessions to open dialogue and co-creation of recommendations, the focus was on building meaningful connections, sharing lived experiences, and moving ideas toward real outcomes.

There was also a powerful reminder of the depth and diversity within the global African diaspora—spanning 54 countries across Africa, 20+ in the Caribbean, and communities across North America and beyond. To speak of “People of African Descent” is to recognize a vast range of histories, cultures, and lived experiences, far from a single narrative.

One message that stayed with me:
speak boldly, listen deeply, challenge ideas constructively, and think collectively.

As someone who has worked at the intersection of community, business, and advocacy, I value spaces where voices are not only heard—but actively shape direction and change.

Grateful to have been in the room to listen, learn, and engage in conversations that matter.

Special credits to @pulcheriemboussi

Sometimes I hear “I feel like I’m busy all day… but nothing is actually moving.”

I worked with a client last month who was having this issue, so we walked through her workflow together.

Within an hour, we found the real problem:
She was spending hours every week re-entering information in three different systems. Approvals were signed by only one person. And tasks that should take minutes were dragging into days because no one had a clear process.

Once we mapped out where her time was going, the bottlenecks jumped out.

A few automations; one simplified approval step; training documents; and her entire workflow changed.

Inefficiencies don’t always look dramatic, sometimes they hide in the everyday routine.

When I review audit notes for a clothing business, I’m not just looking at numbers — I’m looking for patterns.
Maybe sales look strong, but the audit shows rising expenses or delayed supplier payments. That’s where the real story begins.
So I start mapping a cash flow forecast — not just to see what’s coming in, but to understand when and why money leaves the business.
For example, one client had great revenue months but was still short on cash — turns out, most of their profit was tied up in unsold inventory and delayed receivables.
Once we aligned their forecast with reality, everything changed — they finally had clarity, not just cash.
That’s what I love about this work — helping business owners see beyond the numbers and make decisions that actually move them forward. #FinancialLiteracy #CashFlowManagement #BusinessFinance #StrategySession #KPITracking

I worked with a client who kept selling out of their best products every month. Sounds like a good problem right? Sure, but the business was losing thousands in missed sales and disappointing loyal customers.

What did we do? We put a simple demand planning system in place, this not only kept products in stock- they doubled their monthly revenue in 6months.

That’s the power of demand planning.

latest episode, I break down 3 of the most common inventory mistakes—and how to fix them:
❌ Overstocking that ties up your cash flow
❌ Stockouts that frustrate customers
❌ Poor tracking that creates hidden losses
The good news? With the right systems, you can turn inventory chaos into consistent profit.
