📸 Meet our guest film photographer: Adé Farouk Yusuf (aka Xuest)

Nigerian-born artist, cultural producer and strategist, raised in Barking & Dagenham. After years designing community projects and programmes, Adé found his focus in the mundane yet meaningful, and now uses his photography to normalise the experience of the global majority.

“Not every pose carries power. Often it is the absence of performance which makes a moment.”

Young people are about to lead something extraordinary in Barking and Dagenham!

Today, with the @blagravetrust and Good Ancestor Movement we’re announcing an initial £1.8 million investment towards a new Creative Youth Hub – with more funding to come!

It's the start of a bold, long-term commitment to build a thriving hub that serves future generations in the borough. Young people and the community won't just use the space – they'll help design it, guide its use, and, over time, come to own it.

The idea came from residents on our Spaces+Places programme. They had dozens of ideas, but their conversations kept coming back to young people. They wanted to see a buzzing youth space where young people can dream big, collaborate, launch ideas, build businesses, make art, lead change and shape what happens for their future and their community.

There's lots to do and much to decide still. Young people and community members will shape what happens. Keep an eye out for opportunities to get involved.

Street photography is like meditation. Especially on film.

The patience, the intentionality, the tender construction of a moment frozen in time - a series of events that will never align in the same way twice…

It makes me so happy to be outside with my extremely old film camera.

Runthrough: 10k (Road to London Marathon).

18th Runthrough Race.

Today marks my 12th 10K race. I have now completed every distance race in Victoria Park with Runthrough (5k, 10k, and Half Marathon). Twelve times, I showed up when it was hard, when it hurt, when quitting felt easier, and every finish line is a statement, I don’t stop. Today isn’t just another race, It’s about proof.

Proof that consistency beats talent, that resilience builds strength, that I am stronger than every excuse I’ve ever made. Twelve races down, and I’m still getting started. I am invincible, and 33 medals earned. It was great to see @coco_moves_ and @_xuest
