🧡 This has most definitely been what I call a real Work Life Blend week.

What a week! A real mix of business, brilliant women, family, new opportunities and precious moments with the people I love.

🎙️ An interview on the @thejeremyvine Show.
💻 Zooms with @jackiecrawfordimageconsultant and fabulous charity Fashion Show Models in preparation for something exciting.
🎉 The launch of @awwa_acceptingwhoweare ‘s The Big Knickers Network.
🥂 An amazing event with @nataliawillmott in her home with @rubyflint.x , @julie.kelly.artist , @tanjaentwistleglass and Jackie Crawford ( I have seen more of her than Mr 🐝 this week 😂) , catching up with awesome women and meeting some brilliant new ones for the first time.

And alongside all that…

💙 Grandchildren sleepovers and looking after one when his Mummy was poorly.
☕ Caring for my lovely Mum-in-law.
❤️ Catching up with my parents.
🐝 And, most importantly, finally managing a few hours just for me and Mr 🐝.

This is why work life blend matters to me.

I want to build a business that gives me opportunities to do exciting things, connect with incredible people and make a difference — without missing out on the family moments and relationships that matter most.

It is not about perfectly balancing two separate halves of life. It is about creating a way of working that fits around real life, with the flexibility to show up for the people you love, embrace opportunities and make space for yourself, too.

And sometimes, the most important thing on the to-do list is closing the laptop and spending a few precious hours with your favourite person. ❤️

Because success is not just about what we achieve in business. It is also about the life we are able to live alongside it.

And this week? Well, in the words of this Northerner - it’s been reyt grand 🤗 T🐝

What does work life blend look like for you?

Yesterday morning, I got a message from Sarah, a producer at @bbcyork_

🎙️‘ Do you fancy coming on @bekbythesea ‘s show to chat about solo travel?’ Bek was speaking to @missjanetellis later in the programme about this very subject.

A chance to chat, especially to Bek, you don’t need to ask me twice! 😂

The conversation was about the Work Life Blend Getaway I hosted in Estepona last October and, more importantly, what happens when you give women the confidence to step outside their comfort zone and do something a little adventurous.

🤦🏼‍♀️ I may have also put my lovely friend @sharontait66 forward for the interview

Thankfully, she said yes! 😘

We chatted about @cstracs , who found the confidence to return to Estepona on her own in March after coming on our trip last October.

And @juliekelly7730 who had lost her husband Phil at the beginning of 2025 and found that having the trip to look forward to gave her something positive to focus on.

That’s the thing about confidence. Sometimes you do not need to feel 100% confident before you take the leap.

Sometimes you just need someone to say…

🤗 ‘Come on, you can do this.’

If solo travel is something you would love to try but you are lacking the confidence, whether that’s because you have always travelled with someone else or because circumstances have changed - then drop me a DM.

I would love to help you start creating a Fun, Happiness & Adventure Bucket List like mine and maybe put solo travel on it. ✈️

And who knows, perhaps you will find yourself joining me in Estepona next May for another Blue Blend Break with a fabulous group of women. 🤗

🔗 You can listen to the BBC Radio York interview 14.25 minutes in - link in bio.

Because it is never too late to add a little more adventure to your life.

In Summer things often get a little quieter in WOW Team as holidays take over and people get busy with family activities, but this week although a little quieter was a mighty one!

Here’s just one week’s progress of some of our members 🙂🧡, including me!
🌱We met @oliandreecoffee for our regular accountability meeting, putting the world to rights for starters, an important part of our meetings, getting settled in the space and casting other life things aside to focus on our goals
🌱Whilst there I spotted Lucy’s painting, another wow member who at the last meeting here got chatting to Amy the owner of Oli & Ree and hey presto another venue for @fizz.and.finesse is born!
🌱 I shared my new podcast obsession to the team - the @mybpod_ which is so useful right now and fuelling my motivation!
🌱 After the meeting Tracy got straight on it in promoting her fabulous new workshops, as we had nudged her to do in the meeting, making sure all her hard work putting these together would be seen by potential new customers 🙂🧡👩‍🎨
🌱On Thursday night I delivered an online session to the team all about Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values, which are such important foundations of a business, this was an interactive session and they loved working though it all to gain more clarity on their direction & these are always recorded to that all the Team will be able to go back and listen to any that they can’t make live
🌱Again Tracy got straight on that and shared her purpose and values on social media, increasing her visibility which is something we always speak about in WOW
🌱 And finally after a busy week, practicing what I preach, getting out in nature with a good podcast to restore my energy.

Life isn’t particularly easy right now, but working with members who need our support is why we do what we do 🧡, & seeing them put it into practice is what lights us up ⭐️ so keep going for it Team! 🧡

Missed you @clairwrightcopy 🧡

If you want to join the Team that cares about YOU and your business, & wants to see you thrive not just survive, then DM me for details of our next meetings & give us a try FOR FREE at your first meeting 🧡

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙂🧡

‘What is it that you actually do?’ - it’s a question I get asked regularly.

The truth is no two days are ever the same.

One day I am mentoring and coaching women to build businesses with confidence. The next I might be speaking on a stage, hosting conversations about making midlife matter, creating collaborations or helping female founders bring bold ideas to life.

Yesterday I was on the Yorkshire Coast, doing something I absolutely love.

I was invited by my wonderful friend and @awwa_acceptingwhoweare Co-founder, @rachelperu1 , to be part of the photoshoot for her beautiful new @libertefreetobe swimwear collection.

There is something very special about supporting women who choose to start and grow a business in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond. I know just how much courage, confidence and determination that takes and helping women believe in themselves is at the heart of everything I do.

Whether I am mentoring a business owner, coaching a woman to create a work life blend that truly fits her, or standing in front of the camera to challenge outdated stereotypes, it is all driven by the same purpose….

Helping women become more visible, more confident and more unapologetically themselves.

An extra highlight was finally getting to work with the incredibly talented @mariammgomez on the Yorkshire Coast—a photographer whose work I’ve admired for a long time. I also got to finally meet and work with @sonia.rosa.mua & @trudybeaustylist . It really was a day full of fun, happiness and adventure.

To Rachel, thank you for inviting me to be part of your vision. Liberté is about so much more than swimwear. It’s about freedom, confidence and proudly accepting who we are.

Here’s to supporting female founders, lifting each other up and proving that midlife is not the beginning of the end - it’s often the beginning of our boldest chapter.

Last year you answered our rally cry to be part of the AWWA Summer campaign - Be Your AWWAsome Self

We flooded our feed with fabulous women of all ages, shapes and sizes. We would love to do it again this summer!

🤷🏼‍♀️ How ? Take a picture while you are enjoying the Summer sunshine in swimwear and share it with us.

🖼️ Help us build a picture gallery that shines a spotlight on the ongoing underrepresention in swimwear marketing of women in midlife and beyond.

📸 We want you to tag us, @awwa_acceptingwhoweare , add us as a Collaborator or DM your photo to us for us to share.

✍️ Add how you feel, what part of your body you have learned to accept most and why you believe age representation matters in swimwear marketing.

Whether you prefer bikinis, one piece swimsuit, cover ups, we want to see you ☀️

When HD8 Life got blingy with @dippedingild...

If you were following us back in November 2024, you might remember the Dipped in Gild gilding workshop we did with the wonderful Jem.

Well, on Sunday, we were back in Jem's GORGEOUS house to sample her new Bling Ya Bottle bejewelling workshop, which she's hoping to roll out to hen parties and groups very soon!

Of course, we went rogue and decided to pimp a ceramic pineapple that used to house Piña Colada 🍹 but given Jem's vast array of gilded paraphernalia (life-size gorilla included), we didn't think it'd be a problem.

Jem is a fabulous host with a mega creative streak, and is so chill that you don't even realise she's giving you hints, tips and helping you learn a new skill along the way.

We left with a suitably bedazzled pineapple, having spent a couple of hours in good company (thanks for being my bejewelling buddy @yorkshire_threads) and entirely focused on the task at hand. A bit like mindfulness with added sparkle ✨️

If you, or someone you know, might fancy getting a group together and blinging some bottles (not pineapples), then drop Jem a DM 🖤

Thanks for inviting us to be a guinea pig, Jem!

😮 Something that always surprises people at a sip and paint is how different they all are at the end!✨️

I give everyone the same "instructions" and demo the same techniques but you will have your own creative choices along the way and the way you do each brushstroke will manifest in its' own style. 🎨

It is so beautiful seeing all of them at the end and celebrating how unique we really all are. 💛

So are you a bit "more is more" or is delicate minimalist your thing? Come along and find out!

WOW what an evening we had celebrating WOW Team’s 7th birthday on Friday night @farmersboy_shepley with Lucy @fizz.and.finesse !

Lucy only joined us a few months ago but as soon as we learned more about her business we asked her on the spot to host our 7th birthday with some creativity, fun and a glass of fizz!!

And honestly I so needed this, it had been a week! But we had such a laugh, and it was so nice to not actually have to think about what we were painting because Lucy is such a brilliant teacher we easily followed along!

And what I loved was that everyone’s was sooo different, a true reflection of the hugely creative and talented bunch we have in WOW Team!

@clairwrightcopy and I can’t believe it’s been 7 whole years since we started this venture, and just personally we have been through so much in that time, but this community we created from the ground up has supported us all the way and we couldn’t be more grateful🧡

So a HUGE thank you to Lucy, the members who came along, and the rest of our brilliant WOW Team, and all the members we’ve met and supported over the years - over 65 businesses!), we couldn’t have created this without you, and it will forever be our passion project, and hopefully one day the WOW cafe & workshop space will exist in reality, beyond my ever growing notebook, filled with ideas of what that could be -the more I keep talking about it the more it’s likely to happen right?! 😆🧡

And a big thank you to my partner in crime @clairwrightcopy who said YES in the first place and continues to do so, ( even when my ideas are a little left-field 😆), I couldn’t do this without you #dreamteam🧡

Here’s to many more fun filled evenings - there’s already more talk of a Christmas one! 🙂🧡👩‍🎨🎨🥂⭐️🖼️🎨
